Been out with a friend to get passport passport application for renewal as the old one expires next month. Fill in application and got photos etc and went to bank that been banking with them for years said not they do not do it. Then went to post office and they also said that they do not do it despite them been on the litterateur enclosed with application form. Both of post office and bank said that I should go to GP but that is going to take up GP valuable time and will cause further delay in sending off application form.
My grip is why are these organization on the literature enclosed with passport application form.0 -

Unless your appearance has changed a lot in the last ten years, you don't need to get the photo countersigned.

Countersignatories
Get your application form and 1 of your photos signed by someone else to prove your identity if either:
you can’t be recognised from the photo in your existing passport
you’re replacing a lost, stolen or damaged passport0 -

Thanks Mojisola, unfortunately appearance has changed a lot in the last 10 years. and will need application signed.
Difficult for older people as they are not socially active as when they were younger, Post Office and banks know their customers and should oblige but unfortunately they do not want to anything helpful for customers, therefore they should come off the list that passport people send out to people.0
