A lot of nonsense on this thread!

I filled out the new application no problem -just never heard back.

Laziness or maladministartion I don't know but not very professional.

Has anyone's account been closed or has anyone received the cashback by cheque yet?

Just signed in and my credit limit is still there in full plus the £100 cashback. Wish I had done what others did and left £100 on the account for the cashback to clear...

I haven't had my cashback yet.
I think you'll be waiting a couple of weeks for a cheque because they will have many thousands to print and send.
  • I'm sure the flyer they sent said it will be 14 days from the closing date.
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!

For the cashback or the cheque?

I'm pretty sure it said 2 weeks for the cashback, but I don't think they'll raise tens of thousands of cheques instantly, which is why I put my account £100 into debit.

Not true. There is something called "presumption of service" where a caompnay that's sent letters is entitled to assume they have arrived..

I'll have to try that with my car insurance when they claim not to have received proof of my NCB discount. Doubtless the law is different the other way round.

Please let us know how it goes.

Personally I'd just take a photcopy or use recorded delivery.
  • Hi. I ditched my Aqua card on 22nd January as new reward offer pathetic. Owed the max £100 cash back which if you read Aqua's letter should be paid approx 2 weeks after 22 January 2014. Assumed they would take off my balance. Just phoned them and becasuse so many people cancelled they are not paying dreditying cash back til week commencing 17/02 or even probably later according to chap I spoke to on telephone. Thanks Aqua how not to treat your customers! Cheers Dave

I was told they would NOT be crediting cashback but sending a cheque that I can expect to get 2-3 weeks after 17th Feb.
  • Cashback has finally been added to my account and I hope to receive a cheque in a couple of weeks. Even though my account should have been closed (as I didn't apply for the new 0.5% card) they have sent me new terms and conditions which still state cashback at 3% may be earned on purchases (section 11.1)!
