I guess the bigger question is:
We don't know what your business does so can't judge it, how about you explain it a little bit more...

    Which planet are you from?

planet reality , you may not have heard of it , it's the one where pay rises for a lot of the work force have been below the rate of inflation for several years or non existent, workers on zero hr contracts, or working for nmw , and yet the cost of living /inflation has been rising , you do the math , ;)

Sorry thought it was common knowledge.

Its basically video work, mostly working with schools.

IE, they have a show, I film it, make X number of DVDs, sell to school, they sell to parents, everybody is happy.

There is now a photography arm which is a bit more vaired, but as an example I will be camped in a Santa's Grotto, take pictures, frame them and give them to all that pass throught the grotto.

so compared to providing homes for people that can't afford to buy, your job is worthless and adds nothing of value and is arguably unethical.

Wow that must take an awful amount of skill, training and work.

    Rents fall in real terms.

But the value of the asset generating them has risen in real terms.

    Up 6.9% according to Halifax.;)

Nice try, but if my work was worthless nobody would buy the DVDs and my business would be no more.

I could talk about the worth of preserving memories and letting people who could be there see the show.

Well come and take the business off me if its simple.

The skill/training come together, ie you do need to know what equipment to buy and how to use it, then there is just experience in quickly framing shots and camera positions.

As for work, on average a show will take 8-12 hours in editing mastering and manufacturing, so yes there is certainly work involved.

    Anything else? :)

it is very easy to criticise people that produce the essentials of life as one can say they make too much profit and exploit peoples 'needs'

however, what has more value to society : food, clothing, housing, transport or cheap trashy products or services?

Theres just no need for that level of b1tching. There is nothing wrong with what percy does, and calling his services cheap and trashy says more about you than it does him.

Secondly, I've recently bought into one of these cheap and trashy products, whch will probably have you thinking I'm a bit pathetic. Pardon me for wanting to preserve memories through the use of media. The girl offering the services certainly did a better job than I ever could.
