Following a similar thread on mse some months ago, I started buying this from Boots.

Expensive, but it lasts ages (if the householders who do like mint stick to their own toothpaste) and I got it on 342. They also do a lime flavour and 2 different mint ones (which haven't been tried). I took it in to show my Dentist, so she had some suggestions of different flavours if anyone asked her (as I initially did). I also bought some strawberry flavour toothpaste for 6+ in a French supermarket if anyone is holidaying/day-tripping there.0 -
We had the same problem.
DD now uses Sensodyne Pronamel for Children. It's a mint one but not a strong flavour (we tried lots of different brands, and our dentist recommended this one)0 -
I remember a girl I used to work with years and years ago, for some reason couldn't use mint toothpaste, and if I remember rightly, she used Arm & Hammer toothpaste. Whether that had *no* mint, or it was just the least minty one, I can't remember, but that may be a brand you could look into?0

I must have started using Mentadent P toothpaste when I was about that age, and Im now 20 years past that and still using it. I cant stand anything else. I also hate those baking powder ones, that just makes me retch at the thought!
I can use a mint one if forced if there is literally nothing else. But I find Mentadent P tastes of nothing. So Id recommend it.0 -

OH uses mentadent P and refuses to use anything else.
Whilst on holiday with my brother and SIL (and kids) I remarked that for 7 people we had 6 different tubes of toothpaste. :rotfl:When we were little we had one tube for the whole family0 -
Just make sure whatever u get has fluoride in it, otherwise its pointless as it wont help stop decay!0

Another vote for this stuff, it's great. I hate mint so much that I would rather not brush my teeth than use mint. Spent a few years using childrens toothpastes but they taste kind of sickly. Then I discovered this one recently and now I love brushing my teeth and getting right to the back and brushing my tongue. I also confirmed with the company that they don't use ingredients tested on animals so it's a win for everyone0 -
What about some coal? (That is what my Nan told me to use as I do not like using minty toothpaste).
I currently use DD2 4-6 strawberry toothpaste. I am yet to find a milder type for me.
I am really struggling with sensitive teeth too, especially when I eat chocolate, Dentist said apart from yellowish teeth my teeth are fine. (since having wisdom tooth removed).
I am interested to know of one that has no mint and is good for sensitive teeth.

Sensodyne tends to not taste too minty. The problem with kids toothpastes is they contain too little fluoride and will do little to prevent decay. Your dentist can prescribe duraphat toothpaste which is high fluoride not minty and can be good for sensitivity. But is expensive if you pay for prescriptions. Toms of maine also do fluoride toothpastes in different flavours.0

I wouldnt recomment Duraphat unless there is a high decay rate, it contains alot of fluoride and can kill a child if they eat too much!
We only give it out on a dentist prescription (I'm a dental nurse) and yes it is expensive and not needed unless your mouth is riddled with decay or at risk.
We veery rarely prescript it to children, deffo not young ones, maybe teenagers now and then.0
