Have been to costco today as they had some offers on, got banoffe cheesecake, think it was 3 pounds off, had a wee taste at tea, bit sickly for my liking! got mince etc so have stocked up on that for the freezer.
Then went to tesco again for a few bits.

Evening all.........just got back from taking OH out for a meal, its his birthday today, he is 74, went to the local hostelry, they do two meals for £10, we both had Italian Chicken, very nice, have come home for dessert and coffee, strawberries, ice cream and coffee........don't see why I should pay through the nose for what we have in the fridge!!!!
Have been doing a bit of research on New York, amazing the difference in reports on some of the reccomendation sites...........
Off to the lottie in the morning, more strawberries, also need a lettuce and some more spuds. Must also string the onions and garlic, they need to be hung up to dry now.
The wind is quite strong, but the sun is warm out of the wind.
This mornings coffee morning went off ok, we had 10 residents there, think it had something to do with the fact that the rent man was there, he comes every 2 weeks to collect the rent.......everyone put 25p in the tin which more than paid for what we used.........some of them stayed to hear the chappie from the British Legion, not that he will be able to help many of us, we are mostly too young to have served in the war, a couple of the chaps did national service, one was in for 22 years......
Kyle, if you are looking at joining the National Trust have a look at the NT for Scotland web site you can get various offers. We used to belong, you can visit NT properties in England too..........we had a senior couples ticket and recovered the cost in a week we spent in England when we went to Birmingham to the Gardeners World show.
Have a good evening............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Evening All - just wanted to say how brilliant my DH is! Our WM needs a new door and no-one can come before Saturday(which would have been a whole week)....today, without me saying anything, he rang a good friend and took the washing over there, brought it back and dried it all on the line! How cool is that? (And, yes, I'm grateful to the friend too!)Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Well I've got dial-up (after a fashion:rotfl: ) but it's incredibly slow. Been on for almost an hour and only managed to catch up with the back-end of 2 or 3 threads:eek: And sorry folks, thanking is taking up so much time, it may be ditched for the next few days;) This site can be slow enough normally, but tonight it's driven me plum crazy!!!
Sorry to hear about chick 3 Pen-Pen ( I know I'm in the wrong thread, just too painful trying to post in more than one:rotfl: ) but glad the first two are doing well!
Daisyroots that's a great suggestion about the library and if mine hadn't been reduced to a mobile van while it's being refurbished, I'd have given it a try:rotfl: . Thanks anyway:D
Must go, this could be getting expensive.
