Morning all
Another one who didn't sleep well and not because of the storms but because I was having wicked nightmares
Anyway, didn't manage to get everything finished off my list but I did manage to get done half of it as well as doing some other niggly things that needed doing so I don't feel to bad.
Off out this evening so that should be fun, but apart from that not much else to report.
Hope you're all keeping ok and take or leave the :grouphug: as needed. You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -

Morning everyone
Finally read the rest of Mondays thread last night (finished in the wee hours of this morning, lol)
I spent last night cleaning, and more of the same is planned for today - plus catching up on as much homework as possible. I should be finishing the course at the end of this week, but I'm somewhat behind with my work. It's my own fault for letting a man into my life - I knew it would lead to this.
That's one OS part of me I'm trying to work on - the belief that I should drop my life to'stand by my man' - lol.
Thank you to everyone for your lovely welcome home messages, it was great to read them and feel welcome again.
Pen Pin I hope you are feeling much better today.
Pen Pen - congratulations on your new arrivals, I hope all goes well
Catowen - I had the 'nitty gritty' comb from the GP (on prescription) after reading about it on OS. It cleared us up really quickly (I've really long hair, so treating myself with lotions is a nightmare) - one thorough session and everything was gone - this comb even picks up the actual nits ' ie eggs.
A year later and one of the boys caught again and I re-treated - same result (I did also wrap our heads in a home made anti nit solution of essential oils - we had lush hair after!!!)
Ooops, Kaz's waffle is back...... I'm going now before anyone shouts!!!
Love to you all

Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now...Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.I will try to work it out.

Good morning all!
Well, the sky is lovely and blue and all is sunny after last night's storm! Green (compost) wheelie bin is out, recycling bags are out, washing is done (though not out yet!) and d/w is awaiting emptying.
Yesterday we had a lovely day in Greenwich, another home ed trip, this time to the National Maritime Museum for a talk on "Understanding Slavery" which was very interesting. We had time for a look around the Royal Observatory & a walk in the park, too. It was very sad to see what is left of the Cutty Sark. I remember going on board when I was little, and my mum took our boys a few years ago too.
Anyway, today includes helping at the children's club this evening, and clearing up the church this morning after the coffee morning, as there will be a wedding tomorrow, and not sure the bride fancies crunching her way up the aisle over the biscuit crumbs!
Hester - hope you find the job, please try not to worry - worry never makes things improve (telling that to self as well!)
Scuzz - also hope you find the right job
Catowen - I am itching just reading your post....
Amie - congrats on your orange tomato, mine are all still green. Mind you, I have had a couple of cucumbers already, and I don't talk much to either of them. Perhaps cucumbers prefer the peace & quiet?
Hi & (((hugs))) to everyone, whether I have mentioned you by name or not!
Have a good day!0 -
Morning Guys!
Roll on 10.30 as I cant bear this pain much longer. I think another tooth now has exposed the nerve ending...I was talking to one of my consultants yesterday and he thinks it could my illness and meds that Im on, which is stripping the teeth:eek:     ...I hope not! Ive always had great teeth.
Sold 3 items on Ebay last night for a total amount of £55.00:D ...very pleased! I have accepted cheque only, so that will be some spending money towards our few days away (just OH & I) in 4 weeks.
DD's school trip is 4 weeks today:eek:    ..there is finally a meeting tomorrow night, but if Im not up to it, OH will have to go armed with all my questions:D
Needle nurse has been and gone. She is not coming tomorrow as I will be getting more jabs etc at Kings and they will do it there:o 3 of the consultants have worked it that I can see them one after the other, but my other one is away in the states ATM, so will see him in August.
Right, well Id better go as I need some breakfast as I probably wont be able to eat for the rest of the day:D
Hugs to all.

Morning all!
Fingers crossed here for the chicks:j Still at home waiting for DH to finish packing his lunch and then we'll head into work together. Work is a stressful at the moment - no real progress in months and it's getting me down. One of my friends at work has announced that she's pregnant and whilst I'm thrilled for her I can't help but feel a bit lonely - there are two large groups at work, the single males and the married mummies and I feel stuck in the middle, which is selfish I know:o
DH and I did our first Bikesafe evening last night - a course run by the local police in an effort to reduce bike accidents. Very useful:T
Right, once more into the breach - have a good day all!0 -
Morning All
What a thunder and lightening storm last night, we sat in the conservatory watching it. DH said to be me this morning did I hear the thunder after we went to bed, me well I hear nothing, he claims I go unconscious not just asleep. He said we had a massive clap of thunder which sounded as if it was above the house, but saw no lightening with it. Rain coming straight down, not a breath of wind. Gorgeous morning now though 17 deg at 7 am:j :j sun shining. Wish it would dry up for DS though he's off to Glastonbury today.
Only 7 more work get ups now :T
Pen-Pen - a couple of things re the car - 1) when DS has someone run into him her insurance contacted him and organised everything from collecting the car from his place of work and leaving a hire car to bringing it back and then there was no excess at all to re-claim they covered everything.
2) Try the main dealers around Pontefract/Castleford or even Barnsley not much further than Donny/Goole but I find them much more helpful.
(((hugs))) to chick 3, all bits crossed.
Hester (Hugs) and good luck with job hunting. Not what you maybe want to do but some ironing/house cleaning could be an option?
I had stopped my HRT tablets thinking they were no longer needed, however, the "Power Surges" were making life uncomfortable, so back on them again:eek: Maybe try again in winter next time. Better nights sleep though.
I agree with you Queenie dust can wait, it will be back again tomorrow anyway!
Have a great day

Good Morning All
Just a quick from from me, as Im going on a school trip with DD today, (Bolsover Castle). Despite me living in the area for nearly all my life, Ive never been, so I offered my services to go and help out. Ive been told I have 5 kids to watch! That means I cant seneak off for a fag now!
Mega thunder & lightening storm here last night.
I took some pics of the over flowing guttering. Just incase the council dont believe me or Dlb that it does flood when it rains.
catowen - hope you get the nit situation sorted soon!
amie - well done for your 1st orange tomato.
dlb - hope the funeral went off ok yesterday!
pen-pen - how are the chicks? I didn't get to read thread y-day so didnt follow up their progress (sorry)
I had a text from my dad on monday saying thanks for the cards, he was in the shed when I called (thats why he didn't hear me ring the bell then).
That was it, short n sweet, I replied saying when's best time to pop up! Again leaving the door open for him. As of yet no response! Im not getting my hopes up nor am i expecting a huge fuss. He is playing with my emotions, which I cant cope with anymore. Im going to slowly walk away on this one. Let him do the running. I just hope to god I dont see my ex walking the streets, and If Im in my car - Im likely to run the *astard over!
Anyway, best be off, and make a start on my morning nicotine intake for the day!
Catch you later

:hello: Morning all, looks like a nice day today. Big thunderstorm here yesterday evening too.
catowen we had nits last week (well just ds2). I used the nitty gritty comb on dry hair and then on wet conditioned hair. It seems to have worked, but I'm checking every day and my head is raw I've combed it so much. Trouble is my head itches a lot anyway -I don't think it likes shampoo.
I did find it difficult to see what the comb was picking up when using it on wet conditioned hair though.
I'm off to my mum's in Brum today. She had a knee replacement on Friday. She can't drive now for a while so she won't be doing her usual Thursday visit to me. I'm hoping to pick some of her gooseberries which will come in handy with the rations
Have a good day all.0
