Morning Diary,
Have been making some bunting again today and have two orders to deliver, which add up to £30 :T.
I also have two lots of Christmas bunting to make up which will be another £25 which I should manage to get finished today hopefully.
I can honestly admit that making these items make me feel so WELL. Do you know what I mean?. Its good for my soul.
Hope you are all having a great day in this winter sunshine.

Been out all day, OH had to go to Orthopaedic hospital for 6 month (well 8 actually 'cos they changed the appointment) check up on his wrist which he broke badly in the Spring and had to have a plate in to hold it together - all good, so done for another 6 months:D
So pleased to read your lovely happy and positive posts, great that the crafting is going well and that it is making you feel so much better.
Can I "talk to you" in the new year to see if you might be able to make me a cover for my steam generator iron? I was going to ask someone on Etsy or *bay, but if you feel you have time it would be nice to have something made in Dorset. BTW did you go to Harts for your fabric?
Now that OH is on-board, even if he wants to leave everything to you, might it be an idea to schedule a little "meeting", say at the end of each month, to note progress and to discuss what needs to be bought, oil, repairs, car servicing etc, then he would have no excuse for springing stuff on you and messing up the master plan:eek:
Spent £25 on food and drinks out today, not a problem, but I really must shop the freezer and not buy any more food this week.
Don't let that sewing machine get too hot:rotfl:

Hi Maddiemay
Thanks for asking about making a cover for your Steam Iron. I would certainly be interested in that, so let me know in the new year when you can afford it. (doubt it will cost much x).
I have found doing a weekly menu really helps stop me having to nip in the expensive little shops for extras. It can really add up through the week.
Hope you have a nice day ahead xxx0 -
Morning Diary,
Got two lots of bunting to finish off this morning and then I have £65 that should be coming in today or at some point this week :T
Not sure if I will be able to bank that, as I noticed that I have written off all the fuel off the spreadsheets in a bid to make ends meet. So I will use my sewing pennies to store up to pay our fuel.
I think as long as I don't fritter it on naughty stuff then it is taking the strain off the bank account.
Got an extra invoice to send out today as hubby did a job for someone on Saturday. That works out at £142.50. Will def put that in the bank to help cover the bills coming out.
Feels good to be getting money coming in, instead of always going out.
Will post better in abit, am late getting kiddo's to school :eek:0 -
Wow have just heard on the lunchtime news that those who think they have too much debt or are 3 months late paying bills totals 8.8m people .
Can't believe there are that many people in Britain who are struggling. Shocking. I certainly don't feel quite so alone now.0 -
Wow that is scary Steph...I think there are an awful lot of people struggling behind closed doors but they don't want to tell anyone incase they are judged, when in reality very few people have no personal debt.Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

I heard that toonot good is it, and not everyone has resources for support like here on MSE (Or they don't know about it!) I was over 3 months late paying my mortgage when I finally found mse, luckily for me the debt collector from the bank was lovely and went back to them telling them I had nothing
. I'm not so sure everyone's creditors are as nice! And you certainly aren't alone. Nearly everyone I talk to these days has debt of some level...even the ones who seem to have everything, including a huge income! xx

Hi MaddieMay
I forgot to reply to this part of your post the other day. I mostly go to Hansons. Not sure if it is the cheapest around, but markets and other shops are over 15 miles away so its that ages old issue of 'cheaper shops but expensive petrol to get there'. Can never decide if its worth it.
I am wondering if you are thinking of the same market town as me? because Harts IS in the same town as Hansons.
Let me know xxxwantabetterlife wrote: »Wow that is scary Steph...I think there are an awful lot of people struggling behind closed doors but they don't want to tell anyone incase they are judged, when in reality very few people have no personal debt.
Yes, I would hate to be trying to tackle my debt without the help that this site can bring. Although Martin is on the tv a lot more these days, so you would have to live in a cave not to know about this sitedebtfreewannabe321 wrote: »I heard that toonot good is it, and not everyone has resources for support like here on MSE (Or they don't know about it!) Wow can't believe you had such a kind debt collector. You were very lucky. Its not good that nearly everyone has debt, but it IS kind of comforting to me.
We live in quite an affluent area of Dorset and I sometimes feel like I am the only one that is struggling. Its quite nice to know that behind closed doors, others are struggling with bills but maybe not yet had their LBM. xx0 -
Good Morning Diary
Well I thought I was catching up with my orders. I delivered £55 worth of items yesterday, but last night I received a few more orders of a draught excluder, bunting and 2 of my special Christmas Buntings. Fab that these orders total £77.50 (have most of the fabric already). But I am getting slightly nervous about getting all this done in time .
I can't turn down the money, and I know that it will probably all stop January / February etc next year as people get their credit card bills and bank statements through, so I feel I have to 'Make hay while the sun shines' so to speak.
Will just have to not sleep that's all :-)
All next week I will be making Door wreaths, which is another sideline I have set up. and the week after that I will be working at a local turkey farm, plucking turkeys.
All good money but have to fit housework and these orders in around it. Yikes.
I also have 2 small craft fairs to go to the next two Saturdays. So have to make sure I have enough stock for them as well.
Well....I can't moan, but I had better get on.
If I am a little quiet on here the next few weeks, don't worry, I am just beavering away trying to make money

Mmmm, yes I did mean Hansons, got muddled - as usual:rotfl:
Only went there a few times as I did knitting and jewellery making so had lots of other shops to go to at that time, Beaminster, Honiton Shaftesbury and Crewkerne for yarn, and Yeovil, Weymouth and Shaftesbury for beads. I have masses of bead stuff in the loft, but what is to be workroom/study is still a storage pit at the moment, still a few boxes from move as well as all the bedding etc from the motor home which we bring in the house for the winter (actually it's been in all summer as the van had to go "oop north" to the makers for repairs under warranty for 8 weeks, and before that OH broke his wrist), so it has not been used in 2013:eek:
Gosh you are going to be busy, but as you say people want things now, so good luck. Can you conscript the young ones to help with the chores for a (very) little bit of money?
Hope you have a productive day. xxThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
