Thanks for the heads up.
Doesn't matter, sometimes trolls can be fun for the rest of us, as long as it doesnt involve intimate personal issues.
I enjoyed this discussion, and was lighthearted about my Hid Bin thing. Which in fairness, is a great solution to bins in front!
See my previous posts for the ultimate solution to the neighbour from hell complaining about your bins!
Cheers.0 -
I have no idea what these previous posts were? I can only assume my account was hacked, obviously I have changed my password now0

No, the OP has come across quite reasonable. I personally think you come across in this thread as very childish. No one minds that you have a different opinion, it's your behaviour that people mind and the fact you keep pushing your opinion in an argumentative way that is strange.
OP, someone a couple of pages back made a point that could could write a letter to the LA and LL quoting the fact you have the right to 'quiet enjoyment'. This seems like a very good idea to me and you can do this politely but firmly. State that you are a reasonable person and wish to be a good neighbour and tenant, and the fact you complied with both the satellite dish installation and bin request shows this. However you feel that another request on how to live in the property is now excessive and you are doing nothing wrong by keeping your cars at the property and parking legally and safely. You pay rent for exclusive possession and have the right to have full use of your home and live in it without interference from the landlord and their agents.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
This is a very funny thread. I find that as some people get to the end of their lifespan that they are so abrubted, by life in general, that any issue would a]offend them if they fell that they wouldn't do it themselves. so other people shouldn't do it. It's like coming to the end of their lifespan and losing control of themselves. their life and the surroundings. Basically they are a miserable old git. Put your bins where you like in your own property. In fact if it were me I would put one bin on top of the other/ paint them different colours. Infact you might be doing the old geezer a service as it might give a meaning to his life. Otherwise knock on his door with cake and have a chat with a cup of Tee. Maybe he just wants some company. Who knows he might an old war veteran and could tell you a few stories.0

bins go at the back, mine are in the garage, I don't even want to see them in the backBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I promise you I know nothing about the original posts I have only read them myself last night. I created my account at work, im guessing one of my colleagues has 'played a prank', I am genuine and don't wish to be labelled a troll0

I think it all depends on the particular house/area so you'll never get a consensus on it.
For example, my previous house everybody kept their bins out the front of their house. It was a 'nice' new build area but the problem was if anyone on my particular road put their bins round the back, they would have to haul the bins up a couple of (admittedly small) steps when bringing them round to the front which can be a bit difficult when they are full.
The bins in my new house are now kept round the back because there isn't anywhere I can put them round the front where I would not be causing an obstruction and the truck comes round both the front and back so I can just as easily take it out from the back.
BUT. That said if your bins are not causing an obstruction, put them where you like! Put them wherever is easiest for you. It may annoy some neighbours, some may not care. But some people can never be pleased.0 -
But, but....you have time aswell, to have a rant!
Horses for courses.
I think your neighbour has been like a red rag to a bull with you.
In fairness, you moved them to the side. But it is really eating at you that someone would DARE ask you to make the front of your house a little less unsightly.
So you are biting back. On here anyway. You dnt like bing told what to do by an old timer who has lived there for centuries, and likes the way the place is kept nice. That is why it is "upmarket", as you say.
What happened to a bit of communication...face to face?
Have you and the objecting neighbour discussed the issue yet together? Did you mention sky dishes and whatnot? Maybe you did, and if so, what was the outcome?
Jeez. When you eventually become the owner of this property, beware! You could end up being just like your neighbour, if someone next to you rents and puts the bins in the front.
Think about it.
I think you are being a bit of a rebellious type. Sorry, I am glad you don't live next door to me.
I would want to eat you, for your arrogance and lack of empathy quite frankly.
But go on with your fight. It will only end up in ASBO type stuff.
Live and let live, and FGS communicate!
Talk about missing the point! The weirdo next door doesn't want to communicate. He has never raised his grievances to the OP. He goes running to landlady like a crying baby instead of being a gentleman and talking to the OP face to face.
And re the Sky dish - did you read the whole thread? Do you know where the weirdo from doors dish is located? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Has anyone thought about the possibility of it being a fire hazard. I'm sure the house is in a very nice area but you never know who might see your wheelie bin and think it's good idea to set it on fire (Maybe you husband does mind about that sex tape you made or the guy 200 yds down the road doesn't think you should be with your husband ). Either way there are some pretty horrible people and I know from working with the fire service that they don't recommend leaving bins where they could be stolen and potentially set on fire.
:DGood Luck:D0
