There is a huge skip at my local amenity site - mostly filled with Dysons. Not a Henry in sight0

Personally I think you are all just angry and jealous because you don't have Dysons.
I used to feel the same.
It might seem expensive, but the amount it adds to your self esteem and quality of life is inestimable.
I thanked this post for the subtle irony/sarcasm.0 -

Possibly because Dyson have about 65% of the UK market? It's like saying that Fiesta's are no good because your local car breaker is full of them.
And I'll bet that most of those are perfectly serviceable-they just need the filters cleaning.
I've seen it many times: filters block (pre and post), overheat safety cut-out stops the motor, owner assumes the vac is 'dead' and buys a new one.
New Dysons are covered with stickers advising owners how to maintain the filters. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
They even email you every month to remind you to clean the filter. Does Henry do that? No.
The ignorant, malevolent little sod just skulks about the floor, belligerently refusing to move until he suddenly springs forward and whacks into your shins, distracting you from pushing fluff around the floor with his useless hose attachment.0
