What about the DC19? Similar specs to the DC39 but it's £179.99 - i'm guessing it's an older model since I can't see it on the Dyson website.
A few years ago my family were told off by costco (first time ever!) due to replacing too many dysons, one for us and one for grandma and both broke regularly.
Bought a henry and he's invincible so far :cool:Yes Your Dukeiness0 -

Have you seen the price, spec and build quality of a Skoda now-a-day? They aint cheap on all three counts !!!0 -
Can't agree with the disparagement of Miele vac cleaners.
If Mieles are likened to Skodas then who do you compare Dysons to?
Fisher-Price?0 -
Cant believe you have wrote that about Miele.Miele products are built to last where as Dysons are just plastic over priced rubbish
When you buy Dyson you are buying into a lifestyle, a dream if you will.
When you buy Miele you are buying into numbered sock drawers and weak lemon drinks.0 -

Yes they are very sensible. I dont think I have ever seen one that isn't either a mini cab or being driven by an off duty mini cab driver.0 -

It weighs the same and has the same number of air watts.
Should be good.
The DC19 is an older model and as far as I can see the only differance is that the DC19 has normal wheels where as the DC39 has "the ball".0 -
Friends, just a quick update to say I am further bamboozled by Dysons's pricing.
They are up and down by £100 all over the shops. One is £239 in Curry;s, then £370 in John Lewis.
Then it becomes £240 in John Lewis, £330 in Tesco and £220 in Amazon. Blink and its £399 everywhere but the superior model is reduced to £250 in Argos.
I have never seen such shoddy control over a premium brand in my life.
Anyway, I forgot to mention that Curry's apparently gave us the Animal rather then the Multifloor (I thought I reserved the Multifloor but who knows). It sucks. It really really sucks. Its actually hard to push it over the carpet. Filled an entire bin full of dust in one room that had been futilely sucked over by our useless Vax. The Vax of shame, which now lives in the garage in case I ever need to try and suck up squirrel droppings or something.
Truly the suction is awe inspiring.0
