Quite a productive day today
Decluttered SW (but sadly no lbsbecause of holiday treats ) this morning and then did the weekly shop at Ald1 while DH went into town to pick up a parcel.
Cooked twice as much parsnip soup as we needed, so we have leftovers for another day
WMx2, mostly dried on line and then aired in TD. All put away except the shirts which need ironing (but not tonight as my shoulder is aching)
DH moved CoD upstairs and 2 packing cases into the utility, to make a route through to the lounge window, because...
...curtain making lady came to measure up and give final quote - very reasonable considering the amount of fabric needed, not to mention the fact that I haven't got space to sew 3-width, full-length curtains:)
Fencing and paving man (#2) gave quotes for drive, front garden and back fence which are half what we were quoted previously by #1.
Fencing *but no paving* man (#3) quoted almost exactly the same lower price as #2, comes personally recommended by friends, and can start in a couple of weeks' time, so he gets the fence job and #2 will get the drive job if he can do it by Christmas.
Recommended decorators have quoted a very fair price for doing the HSL and glossing every door in the house on both sides. This week we will do all the primer on the new handrails and put a base layer of emulsion on the walls as far up as we can reach without the long ladders that they have.
Carpet fitter is coming on 28th to do 2 bedrooms and the lounge - a bit later than I had hoped, but it gives the paint plenty of time to dry
Tea cooked and eaten.
Rubbish bins emptied and recycling bags and black bin put out.
And this evening I have undercoated the cupboard in the back bedroom which was previously varnished and used to be in the front bedroom. It's rather large and took me ages to do...
I'm hoping that DH will be home from his model railway club by 22:00 so that I can get to bed at a reasonable hour, having got up before 06:00 hours this morning.
Goodnight all!0 -
Don't be downhearted, optimistic mummy. It's how you feel about your home that matters. Probably MIL was just trying to be helpful and never meant her words to be hurtful.
Haven't done so much today. We had number 3 gs this morning and my back and shoulders have been very painful. Kitchen surfaces cleaned, small appliances cleaned and polished, washing done and a pile of ironing ready for tomorrow.
On my personal list I did quite a bit of committee business and sorted our family secret santa.
So not such a bad day but wanted to spend more time flying!0 -

i did mention to DP that i think its her way of trying to help ...
hopefully she wont moan about anything otherwise i can see myself getting annoyed (ill be good and keep quiet) .... i said to DP although i just get on with it and don't use it as an excuse i think im doing well considering im nearly 36 weeks pregnant and got a disability ... maybe thats why MIL has offered to come round 'share the workload' kind of thing ... with partner not feeling well i've been 'nursing' him since the weekend too so think its her way of trying to help me feel better and not under pressure to have everything perfect and do it on my own... (probably her way of relieving the pressure) i always set high standards for myself but i haven't said anything to her and don't feel like its all 'getting too much' at the moment.think its her way of helping to have everything 'perfect' ready for baby's arrival.200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Evening all
Well afraid I didn't do too well today, BD managed to get out of her kennel and was firmly with me all day. (For those that don't know BD is commonly known as Black Dog or Depression) I didn't actually get up until gone 2pm of which I am ashamed of. And then I am sad to say I just lay on the sofa watching t.v. or surfing on the net. I did get off at 5pm to wash my hair but that was all I'm afraid, oh I did get dressed..lol This is really not me, but I do know why I am feeling like this and hopefully when the end of the month appears then I should be a bit more okay. And then I'll probably get manic over Christmas..lol
I am beginning to think that my mood stabilisers need upping but getting an appointment with the dr will be a miracle as we are in the middle of a major change over etc at the surgery, and Dr's are something they don't have.
I have just watched Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners and have the itches watching it because I know this is me but unfortunately not with cleaning more with my washing of clothes and hanging out. I do also have a couple of other OCD things but these I don't admit to people, and probably not even to myself.

Aww optimum, maybe she's noticed the extra effort you're putting in and wants to help?
Had a hectic paid stuff again, with announcement of rather huge changes although it seems my role is to remain, as am i, so no imminent redundancy threat. Managed to get some groceries before collecting DD, including yellow-sticker bread. So I've switched on the second freezer now.
Bit of laundry done but other than getting stuff ready for morning, I've not achieved a lot. Did have a cuppa and mince pie. Didn't really enjoy it that much :rotfl:
Handed in DD notice at nursery. So that's it! She finishes a week before Xmas then will start school nursery in January! Even got her a school cardi last week - awww cute.
Have synchronised calendars with MIL and organised a few things. Will read over some emails, then bed for me I think. Another early start tomorrow.
Best wishes, mrs mp

just realised with MIL being here tomorrow im going to have to behave ... shes one of these... 'dont do that' 'don't lift that' 'be careful' kind of people just because im pregnant ... hmmm definitely going to have to have my polite head on .... hopefully neither of us upset each other or kill each other by the time she leaves ! ... i do love her but i keep having to remind her im pregnant not ill .... and then she keeps saying to me 'dont lift that' etc so we've kind of been ignoring each other.... glad DP hasn't told her half of what ive done / been doing since being pregnant otherwise she may have killed me ! ... i understand she worries and im carrying her grandchild so can understand that she is being caring etc .... but most of the time i know my limits so i dont see anything that i do a problem ....200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000

Hi all
Welcome back returners
I have finally managed to put my much missed old boy cat's bowl away, it's only taken me a month since he passed. Oh well it's done now.
November challenge update - have put a few items in a pile for the CS. I'm looking at everything with a critical eye - do I want to take it with me? If the answer is no then it's going in a pile (will have 3 - CS, freecycle or dump)
Flying tonight:
Water filter changed
Manky items removed from fridge
DW on & emptied
Sink plug hole cleaned with soda crystals & boiling water
Just about to S&S the worktops then off to bed.
Goodnight all

Welcome home returners and to your new home newbie.
Flying is non exisitent atm. Boys both home from work so bedtime all round. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Got in from work just before 7pm and after putting my tea on I got glued to the sofa somehow. I managed to push the hoover round downstairs and I've washed a load which included the dining room chair covers as they were disgraceful!
I have a nice long evening ahead of me tomorrow so will hit the ironing and some paperwork then.
Off to fill my trusty hot water bottle and head up the stairs to bed, g'night all.0
