Morning
Assuming they do lodge an appeal sometime tomorow what are next steps? i.e presume Supreme Court review and decide whether to grant leave to appeal? Is there a timescale for this? Read elsewhere on this site that SC don't sit after end July (not sure of date). I agree with the consensus that Jet 2 will lodge appeal at last minute but if the SC don't review this before their 'holidays' do we have to wait for them to reconvene just to find out if leave to appeal has been granted?0 -
Understand unlikely to know until October if appeal to SC will be permitted and if it is anybody's guess when appeal will proceed but March > June 2015 ???0

Thanks.
That stinks!
Government don't give CAA proper powers ala Ombudsman so airlines can ignore.
CAA don't enforce the rules properly anyway, some of their comments post CoA Huzar could have come from the media department of the airline industry.
So we all have to except the airlines refusal to play by the rules or take them to court indivdually on a case by case basis. Didn't the gov. just increase the costs of bringing a small claim as well just to add insult to injury. :mad:0 -
That of course should be 'accept' not 'except'0

Seen on travelmole jet2 are finalizing the application to be submitted before deadline. I reccon that gives the SC 23 days to decide, so rather than wait till after the recess I suspect they will announce before the jollies, it's is pretty simple decision and i cannot see them going against the ECJ rulings, "Inherent with the normal operation of an airline" The high court judges will have taken this into concideration before reaching the decision they did, and that Jet2 could appeal to the SC by petition.
Another thing is getting on my nerves now is the total lack of understanding from some members of the media and public on what the reg 261/2004 is all about. "Compensation is for the Inconvience, nothing more or less"Check out Vaubans Flight Delay Guide, you will be glad you did....:):)

Understand unlikely to have SC decision until October (due to the summer recess) and thereafter if allowed anyone's guess when hearing will be but likely to be spring/summer 20150 -
Just found a little point in law that any legal person could use in this case.
This case was about an objection to parking tickets and the bill of rights, brought by a gent known as Mr de Crittenden, in court Mr Justice Collins stated when he rejected the case "politicians were completely free, through Parliament, to bring in new laws, despite what may have gone before in the course of history"
He declared: 'Parliament is supreme and can amend any act, or any provision of our law at any time.'
Some of our laws was passed over to the EU (Brussells), we signed up too, so how can the SC be Supreme?
Interesting augument I think.Check out Vaubans Flight Delay Guide, you will be glad you did....:):)
