Thanks vic3! I will check that one out! Do you find it easy to use as well? It's so strange isn't it, you would have thought they would make buggies better fold-upable these days!!!

I'm hoping whichever we look at in Kiddicare (or wherever we look) they might be able to take the buggy out to our car and see if it fits in the boot before we buy. I would really hate to have to faff around with taking the wheels off with my baby in tow everytime I got into the car!

Extremely easy to use. We had everything (pram, car seat, carry cot, rain covers and changing bag) for around £600. It's also really light, even though it looks heavier. Pop in to mamas and papas and they will try it in your boot.

Hi. My elder daughter is going through this for her first child due beginning of Jan.
We had a look at the weekend at the Mothercare Expedior.
    Its her favourite so far.
There were of course many other more yummy mummy styles but the Expedior seemed excellent.
It's a complete travel system so seems to tick all your boxes too.
Suggest might be a useful one for you to look at. Was very easy to dismantle/fold up/lift etc.
    Good luck.

We bought it, not realising that the dimensions on their internet site are without the wheels. Ask if you can check that it all fits before you get it.

  • Bugaboo vote here.

By far the best pram I have ever used (and trust me I've been through a few :p)

This time will be the Bugaboo from the start. Nothing has come close with the previous two.

I personally don't find it heavy at all
  • Had a Stokke here with a Maxicosi for the car seat (adapters so it can fit on the Stokke frame). Also a Maclaren XT which was great (but not pricey :) )

Vote for the bugaboo bee here, fits in the boot of a mini, is light, can fit loads underneath and can get a lovely baby cocoon for newborns. Resale value is fab too, maxi cosi car seat fits on frame and also is isofix. Baby will fit till three too. Loved mine.
  • Thanks all :) think I've got quite a good list now to start with!!

Air cooled - the stokkes we didn't like because you get a teeny tiny little storage bag underneath and there's no other storage - so we ruled that one out quite quickly. A shame really as they do look pretty cool!

Hadn't heard of the Maclaren before posting here, so just off to google that now! :)
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

    Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T

Always had travel systems but didn't bother with my third child- best decision I made as I spent the money on a decent rear/forward facing car seat and a buggy that suited our needs/folded up etc. Always tickles me when you see these babies swung around in infant carriers (I affectionately heard them called Baby Buckets once!)- they are incredibly heavy and awkward and make it very easy to leave your baby in a corner under the dinner table instead of being held/interacting with people. As a previous poster said, babies shouldn't really be in car seats for long at all and if out shopping or whatever it is better to lift the baby out of the car seat and put them lying flat in a pram. Or you could try a nice supportive sling :)
  • I used the Maclaren XT along side as a buggy when she was older, even though suitable from newborn my two never looked "comfy" in there when newborn? Maybe that's down to how small they where though rather than a general view.

The Maclaren is definitely the best in buggy terms though

Might well have been me calling them baby in a bucket - I know they work for a lot of people but they're so blooming heavy and arkwardly shaped that I've never managed to lift them comfortably myself!
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
  • Yes, small bag with the Stokke but I got some buggy hook things to hang another bag from :)

The XT was great, I still think it was my favourite :)
