They've been doing that for years. As soon as any member even suggests that house prices might not crash 40%, that they may actually rise a bit, or that BTL can actually be a decent investment...wham!..stealth ban for you.
What's left is largely a group of paranoid, obsessive plonkers who wallow in self-agreement. Popular blogger Mark Wadsworth set up a Facebook page for ex-members, after suggesting that HPC has become "a bit Stalinist"

ive been blocked.
As Turnbull says, they've been doing this for years.
It's a bit sad and more than a bit pathetic that having lost the argument their only defence against total humiliation is to surreptitiously block any posters that don't support the HPC view.Every generation blames the one before...

First, they banned the bulls,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a bull.
Then they banned the neithers,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a neither.
Then they banned the undecideds,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't undecided.
Then they banned me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

If you've been there 6 years it shouldn't surprise you that mentioning doing btl is likely to go down badly and possibly come across to them as trolling.0 -

probably, just thought id sound out a option we were considering. were kinda like well if you cant beat them join them.
Given the consistent track record of the HPC collective about being catastrophically wrong on almost everything.....
If they banned you for wanting to buy a BTL, it'll probably be the best financial decision you ever make.;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

They did that to me on there because I had the temerity to suggest that a house that someone was saying was overpriced in North London would sell. It did for close to the asking price as did my flat 1 road away.0
