This is why my parents are going to take control of my finances

Why are you doing this? Why can't you do it yourself?

Having no access to money means you have no money to gamble with.

Until I can 100% guarantee that I won't fall of the wagon I am taking as many steps necessary so it can't happen while I seek help.

I think that this has happened to you again because effectively your husband supported you by paying for everything last time and now your parents. If you truly want this never to happen again then you have to understand why you did it.

I wish you all the luck in the world, you sound like you are in a terrible place. Please do remember its only money at the end of the day. I know its stressful, I don't mean to be trite, but just keep things in perspective.

I think Councelling would be a good option for you.

In the early stages of an addiction the more barriers you have in place to stop you from gambling the better. My dad still looks after my money 11 months down the line but has started to give me back a little more control. It was one of the things I was told at GA to do.

My husband is talking to me again at least, he said he's standing by me because he has to, and he's not happy about it, to be honest that's more than I deserve right now anyway!

I appreciate what your saying and I am going to see professional help, but know the meantime I need help as my brain can really cope with anything else right now.

Thank you, I'm feeling much more positive today, I'm going to tackle things one step at a time as looking at the whole picture is just too daunting to get my head around! The loan payments are fixed and nothing I can do about that right now just I just need to focus of reducing the credit cards, the loan will inevitable be reducing anyway and I will just have to do all I can and reassess the situation each year!

There shouldn't be anything to stop you overpaying the loan (check the agreement), if that is what the snowball calculator suggest that you do.
