That will be difficult - I cannot speak on the phone - I have a speech problem !!
I have just received an email from SP social media - asking me to register on SP website - which I had already done - this is the reason that I am querying it - since I received an email from SP informing me that I needed to contact DWP - But they told me that it was the responsibility of the suppliers to make any payment...
    This is infurating !!

I can well understand your frustration at going round in circles.
Do you have anyone who could speak to them on your behalf? SP will need your consent to speak to another person about your circumstances ( data protection ) but it can be done.
Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Thank you - is it down to DWP to administer the Warm Homes scheme or is it, as it appears - a typical tory booboo /mix up - with nobody wanting to accept responsibility ?

    - per my other # in this, and other threads and forums
    - administration as you mean it of the 'core group' is nothing to do with the DWP
    - administration as you mean it of the 'broader group' is nothing to do with the DWP

You can contact the DWP directly and query your entitlement to 'core group' but not 'broader group'

    Core Group

The DWP in advance give the big 6 and other contributing electricity suppliers a code that automatically entitles you to the discount, each of these suppliers must use the same DWP eligibility criteria, the DWP also write to you snail mail and notify you of your 'core group' entitlement and confirm that your supplier has already been informed. If you have not received a letter form the DWP on the core group Warm Home Discount you are not entitled to core group.

    Broader Group

Is run wholly by each of the contributing electricity suppliers, each of the suppliers can have a totally different set of criteria but most have more or less identical entitlement criteria. In your case Scottish Power administer the broader group rebate and decide who gets any of the money the make available. Get in touch with Scottish Power, they give you an application number, with that application number you can apply for the eligibility test. The have a Minicom service on 0800 027 8899.

What you need to understand about the 'broader group' is its a pot of money, when its gone its gone. Its not the case that everyone who fits the criteria will get the money as an entitlement, its not an entitlement, its pot luck. You don't get money, you get the value credited to your account before the end of March in the year its due to be paid.

Hope this helps, my last post on this in this thread.

I have received an email from SP - "The Warm Home Discount will be credited in your Scottish Power account by 31 March 2014."

It certainly pays to be persistant....
Anyone else entitled to this - please keep trying.
That is almost 3 months free energy !!

Im just about to apply for this, via Scottish Gas, however, I have been battling with my energy supplier since I moved in here to actually have my name added to my bill, and my address corrected, they still send me letters saying, Occupant/Occupier. With the wrong house number, they send it to 9 and I'm 15, 9 doesn't actually exist. Its very complicated.

I know there will be several recorded telephone calls etc, but is just an extra battle I can be doing without.

I am guessing that - despite receiving an email from SP, telling me that I WILL receive a £135 rebate at the end of March - new rules will mean a delay and the payment will not come from SP but from DWP ?
