Just the two of us welcome, not to late to join the challenge but do you want the whole house or just one room.

Oh great - I'll probably regret this but whole house please!! It has to be done before family come home for Christmas. Watch this space! Thanks to Kaz2904 and everyone else who has welcomed me - I do feel at home already. This morning I'm a bit stuck waiting for a delivery but have already cleaned windows in one bedroom and hall and landing - thank heavens for a K**rcher.

Not been posting but I have been flying every day after work. House is looking so much better for it, so I'm hoping to focus on other jobs this weekend and not basic house cleaning :j
Sorry for your loss Jazee

I've scanned in 20 DVDs and CDs to music magpie (DHs stuff that no-one will watch / listen to) and its come to just under £9. There is about another 20 DVDs and possibly c100 CDs. So estimate around another £50.
Question: do I bother myself to scan them all in for the sake of £60, then faff about contacting them to send a courier, or do I let inlaws take them all the the hospice sale and hope that they will make more that 35p per item?
In one ear I can hear DH saying "sell 'em, make a few quid" but in the other ear I can hear my sanity saying "just get rid - the hospice needs the money more than you do and you can do without the hassle".
Hate getting rid of his stuff but its just sat there gathering dust...Bossymoo

Catch up on laundry - need to do a "degrease" wash on some of DDs clothes  How they're getting on her clothes I don't know but its only ever her stuff.
Order one item for Christmas - waiting on speaking to ex who wants to discuss something to do with DD's main pressie apparently so I guess I best order the cards tonight when DD has had input

Going to make some lunch then wash the cleaning cloths. I've completely run out. I can tell DD has been cleaning up in the bathroom & kitchen after herself for a change this weekFound my nannas Christmas cake recipe so I'm going to go and sort the fruit out to soak before I make lunch.
Will vacuum through after lunch while I wait for the cloths to wash/dry.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Ds2 is off school today after redecorating his bedroom doorway this morning. He has a streaming cold now so maybe that was the cause.
Thus I can not visit my mother and my sisters have gone a craft show in Birmingham. I'm ringing Mum every few hours to make sure she is ok.
4 x wm done inc towels
Next Dad's washing to go in whilst I do a grocery order.
Welcome to new ones x0 -
For what it's worth Bossy, I'd let the Hospice have them.
I'm trying to make myself not want a small slow cooker I saw in a chazza shop yesterday. I make a lot of winter vegetable soups and chutneys, and my research tells me it would be just the thing .... And the CS is the local hospice, too .... The question has to be, would I feel virtuous if I bought it?Better is good enough.0 -
Think you're right HB, just been reading a thread on here about them and if they reject an item for whatever reason they don't even return it to you! Think I'd just get stressed.
Inlaws coming Sunday so will pack them up for them to take.
Thanks.

Bossy I decided earlier on in the year to stop saving stuff to car boot and to give it all to CS shops. I still ebay the odd bits but I'm happy with the decision.
Didn't get very far with the cleaning. Baking a welcome home cake then I need to go and buy curtain tape. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Bossy, I'm with honey, donate them.
If you don't neeeeeeeeed the money and they are causing you angst by being there, just get rid. It's far better for your mental health and they'll be gone nice and quick, no comeback on you and a nice warm glow inside.
It must be so difficult for you going through his things (((Bossymoo))) have a big squishy cuddle xx
I've done the bathroom. Inadvertently turned the shower on whilst standing underneath it cleaning the metal work! Gave me a wet head and quite the surprise.
I've been looking at some more stocking fillers this morning. Need to add up how much stuff we've got for the twinkles and then split it between Christmas/Stocking/ Birthday presents.
DH needs to take a day off soon too so that we can get DD's bed from the meatball shop.
