Ella -phant. Cruel nickname given to hefty daughter of a friend.
So I'd avoid Ella and Bella for the reasons given above button etc? I think Isabella is the best suggestion so far.
Anyhow, it's your choice at the end of the day, I bet you choose something completely different to the three on your list,Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Another vote for Ella here
then Daisy
Not keen on Bella maybe because I know of 2 dogs that had this name.
Hope everything goes well and let us know what you choose.0 -
I know of a Gabriella who is called Ella!0

I actually like Emma, Harriet and Olivia, but they're not up there0

Go with Ella.
Bella reminds me of twilight and Daisy is too common these days.
They are all pleasant names tho.0 -
I'm another that likes longer names. I have Jessica and Alexander. They are mainly called jess or Jessie and Alex. But when there older they have the choice of what name to use. If DS had been a girl he would have been isobelle as I liked izzy as a short name too.
And I have to agree with the others, please don't call your child xxx boo! The poor child has to grow up with what ever name you choose! By all means boo is a nice pet name but leave it at that, don't put it on the birth cert x0 -
My daughter is Ella, she is 10, and we named her after Dr Green and Dr Cordays little girl in ER, 10 years ago it was quite unusual, there are no others in my daughters school anyway x0

Lovely names
Izzy is actually very sweet. I have to agree that Isabella is OK, as it gives scope for a few different names: Elizabeth is a good one to.. you can have Liz, Lizzy, Ellie, Beth, Bethan.0 -
I wanted to call my DD Niamh or Aisling but my ex a) couldn't spell them b) [STRIKE]couldn't[/STRIKE] refused to pronounce them correctly so I took that as an indicator of how other people would act too
I have an Aisling....she gets called Azling, Izling, Ashley, and aIsling...but it's an old Irish name, (meaning dream or vision) and anybody who is Irish can pronounce it correctly (Ashling). She loves having a different name to everyone else here and wouldn't change it for the world...
She is almost 18 btw so could if she wanted to!0 -
Eleanor = Ella, Elly, Laney, Nelly, Nora - and quite a few more.
Bella will be turned into Belly and Daisy was fashionable a few years ago so there's loads of 'em.
Or even better, Elinor. DD is Elinor Daisy. I wanted Daisy but DH wouldn't agree. It hasn't really been shortened, we all know her as Elinor, not Ellie or anything. As has been pointed out, in Wales names tend to get shortened whether you like it or not so alot of people call her El, or her personal favourite Elz, which is also printed on the back of some of her school hoodies!

My mum had lots of elderly aunts and cousins called Daisy when I was growing up so Daisy was always a name I associated with old people!
Bella is most definitely a dogs name - I know quite afew people who have dogs called Bella.
I'm not a fan of giving longer names with the intention of calling them by the shorter version. How many adults do you know who are actually known as Benjamin, Alexander, Samuel, etc...? I don't know any. DS is Alex because that's what he was going to be known as and I don't see the point of naming him Alexander when no-one ever in the world was going to refer to him as that.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0
