i have just been to asda and picked up loads of strawberries raspberries and pineapples that were yellow stickered
i would like to freeze these in small portions to have for breakfast each morning how do i do it?
the pineapple is a whole pineappleThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
I think strawberries and raspberries you open freeze on a tray and then bag but if I remember strawberries when defrosted are very mushy as for pineapple no idea
I have a friend who freezes them in ice cube trays to add to drinks:wave: Kate :hello:0 -
Yes, either leave whole or cut into pieces, place on something flat that you can get in your freezer (plate, oven tray etc), place in freezer for about 1/2 hour to an hour so that it starts to freeze then after that you can bag it into portion sizes.
Pineapples cut up into chunks and freeze well, taste lovely when not quite defrosted.0 -

Just posted this question on another thread, but this one may be more relevant. I have half a carrier bag of freshly picked plums - are they ok to freeze? Do I need to freeze them whole or prepped?
Thanks

We had so many vegetables that only half were needed on Christmas day. They were the fresh but bagged type ones as my Dad said it would be easier than chopping all morning. We froze the stuff we didn't need and cooked them today - the mixed cabbage came out ok, a little limp but edible but the carrots were disgusting!!
I quite often try to buy reduced veg so it would be handy to know what can be frozen. Maybe I need to parboil stuff first?0 -
my mam used to blanch allotment veg before she froze them and from what I can remember they were ok. However that was nearly 30years ago
i have frozen carrots myself but have then only used them in casseroles, I didnt blanch mine I just bunged them in the freezer0
