mrs a
i understand where you are coming from and i am not usually prone to violent tendencies myself but when a gang picks on my 12 year old dd then i will do anything to defend her and o do mean anything, sometimes this threat to the bullys parents is the last resort i would take but it usually works, its the only way sometimes that the moronic idiots will control their offspring. it is not all down to society to have to put up with idiots it should start at home, teaching respect for others ect.0 -

I am with you on this one, there is only so much mediation that you can do before you end up having to speak the only language that these thugs know0 -
Could you not take it in turns with another parent to take / pick up your DD and their child to/from school? That way you don't have to fork out for a bus every day (just every other day!) but your DD is safe with an adult to and from school?
If you can make it to school one afternoon, make an appointment to see the head/form tutor/ewo and the policeperson that is linked to your school. All schools have (i believe) a designated policeperson for just this sort of situation. Our policeman actually has an office on site at my school and is a permenent fixture there! Bullying, theft and vandalism has dropped by more than 70% since he joined us permenently.
It's an awful situation for you.... but it is so important for you DD to go to school as much as she possibly can. It should be the bullies that are excluded not the victims.
Hope it goes well

i dont have a car an cant really afford one at the minute
Could you walk a different route to avoid it? I don't have a car either but I would gladly add 30 minutes to my walk to and from school to help my child out.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
If the initial problem was an argument with another child, that was then sorted out - can you/the school speak to this girl and or her family, and ask them to sort this out with the bully?0

what is the EWO?
i have contacted the local community police and am awaiting a call back i do believe they will be of great help as they were in primary school

The EWO is the education welfare officer who will come to see you about a lot of unauthorised absences, but they can also help to refer your daughter on for counselling etc.
At the moment at my school, there is a girl who is bullying a lot of other pupils, and is vile to staff too.Because she has a bad home life we are asked to make allowances, which I am willing to do to an extent, but not at the expense of the poor other pupils:mad:  Sometimes it seems that teachers don't care but most of the time our hands are tied by the powers that be who want to keep the numbers up at their schools.Ridiculous though it might seem  "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
