Perhaps we should start a "we appreciate Caroline Hirons" sub-group:D
i'll join! I've been following her too. i like thats she's realistic and actually tells it like it is.
IN:
Nars Guy Bourdin palette - my mums bought me this for xmas. counting it as an IN now to save the onslaught in dec but i won't use it and its gone in my pile of presents to myself
UU:
RMK toner - WBA but don't thinks its any different to others.
Benefit Ooh La Lift - WNBA, i don't think this made any difference to my dark circles!
Laura Mercier mini mascara - WBA
Evolve serum - WNBA my skin was a bit clearer but nowhere near the results i got from the Nuxellence one
Nuxe Mini shower gel - WBA
TA:
Bare minerals flawless definition mascara - smelt fully so binned it0 -
I inherited my mum's good skin, natural colour and high cheekbones, but unlike her, I protected my skin from the sun from 35 onwards. I've never used a sun lamp, ever and never ever sunbathe. If a face cream hasn't got an SPF, I don't want to know.
I'm 55 now, and it's only in the last year that I developed some fine lines round my lips, I've had smile lines round my eyes for years but no wrinkles as such anywhere, yet.
I've got a very pronounced 1 between my eyes, that I've had since my 30s and some frown lines that I hide with a fringe.
I do have a couple of little marks on my face where once there were none, but not enough to start using foundation again. I have a friend who is at much the same stage facially and she is 60 next month, we both put it down to luck, sunblock and genetics.
However, she didn't protect her decolletage from the sun and that has aged more. When she was 55 and working as a teaching assistant for at risk children one of them thought they were insulting her when they said 'and you're at LEAST 43...!'.
I'm usually taken to be around 7 years younger than I am, I can't go as far as she can! ... I'll settle for that.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I'm much like you McCulloch, I use at least SPF 30 on my face all year round now (a must due to laser hair removal and a good habit to be forced into) and really not a sun worshipper, I never have been. I'm 35 and people have always guessed my age exactly or a year either side, only time will tell if that continues!
I can see fine lines on my forehead and beside my eyes but only when I REALLY look, my mum and gran both had fantastic skin so hopefully I will be ok as I ageNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Hi ladies - just dropping in and trying to catch up on what has been happening. Real life has been getting in the way for quite some time now.
Anyway, having a relaxing day at home so I can finally report on my UU's.
Kleenex facial wipes - love these but this was my last pack. Can't find them to replace. WBA. Now onto St Ives which I am really impressed with especially the size - 35 wipes in a pack for £1.49 in HB.
Bare Minerals Veil Sample - Wasn't overly impressed with this. After an hour or so I felt a bit shiny again. WNB.
Tweezerman brow gel - WBA! Love this for after attacking my brows with the tweezers. My best friend is in the states just now and has asked what I want brought back. This is going on the list.
My Stilla lipstick Anna is spluttering which is a shame as this is a fav of mine.
Also the other day I ran completely out of toothpaste. I had to open one of my travel size ones. This has never happened to me before. To put this in context - when I joined this challenge I had stockpiled 15 full sized tubes.:eek::eek: Yesterday I went and bought 2. at a third off. What a change in mindset - there will always be an offer on.
I am off for a short break to Edinburgh during the week so will get a few more travel sized UU's then. Haven't been away much this year at all.No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -

Hope your eyes feel better now moneyless mac.Clutterfree wrote: »Philosophy Unconditional Love shower gel 473ml - WNBA. I liked the smell but I am so over Philosophy shower gels, etc. Don't get me wrong, I still love them but I do think they are soooooo overpriced. I'd rather spend my money on decent skincare products for my face than a shower gel. That said, I would buy if I saw a bargain.
I don't think I'll ever not use Philosophy shower gels. Love a lot of them and find that a bottle lasts me ages. I know that they were reduced massively at Boots last January and I think I'll look out for some of these myself. Have a Pumpkin Pie bottle on the go at the moment.
Another UU from PP List : Elemis Lime Blossom Balancing Cleanser. The only cleansers left in my stash now are a small bottle of Elemis Tri Enzyme cleanser which I don't like - it strips my skin - and 3 x travel sizes of LE C&P. Emma has a 200ml tube of C&P on the go at the mo so I'm going to share this and then maybe use a small tube prior to Christmas. I know that I have a 100ml pump of C&P and Elemis balm x 4 coming at Christmas so no need to purchase any cleanser this side of Christmas.
Am going to throw out the Benefit Bad Gal mascara now as nothing's coming off the wand now. Also want to cut open the tube of No 7 hand cream later to get this finished off.
Had my toe nails painted with Gellish Hot Rod Red with Bronzed glittery top coat so they now look festive! Have just repainted my finger nails in OPI Off With her Red. Love this colour. It was a limited edition but I do have two other polishes that are very similar to this : Maybelline Cherry and Nails Inc Victoria and Albert.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi All,
Just caught up on several pages, I've been trying to keep up lately but the thread is moving fast and my work life balance is pretty rubbish at the min! Need to be mindful of that.
Firstly, before I forget, not sure if you've got something yet VALM but I know you were thinking about making an advent calendar for Emma - HB's have a really cute little felt set for only £4.99, each date is a stocking, big enough for a mini/decent sample size.
I've got loads of stuff to declare, mostly out thanks to a mini clearout with Christmas in mind which will swell the stash whether its by gifts or sales purchases, probably a bit of both.
The only undeclared IN I've got is Sure Cotton Ultra Dry roll-on deo - HG and straight replacement for a UU
UU are:
The Body Shop Coco Butter lip balm - WBA - this was a novel and entirely accidental UU.... left it next to the laptop with a top on and it melted all over the table! I've another one of these knocking about somewhere but can't put my hands on it at the minute!
The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream - WBA - HG, love the texture and the smell, the packaging is a bit of a pain though to try and ensure you use it all up - I know you can get a L'Occitane key but that seems like hassle..
The Fine Scottish Soap Co. Lavender Soap - this was a gift and lavender isn't a scent I'd usually go for but was nice and subtle - liked the fact that the soap was square and wore evenly to avoid that annoying snapping in the middle scenario!
REN - Activ 7 Eye Gel - WBA - Love the soothing feel of this on tired eyes
Sure Cotton Ultra Dry roll-on deo - WBA - HG
Garnier Simply Essential 2 in 1 Makeup Remover - WBA - Newly established HG, cheap as chips and works on Benefit They're Real where other, more expensive, alternatives fail - all that without being too greasy!
Burts Bees Super Shiny Conditioner - WMBA - Liked the unusual fragrance, didn't feel as though it smoothed my hair enough when rinsing but final dried outcome was fine and shiny
TA'd the following to Mum:
Nivea Daily Essentials Facial Gel Wash - Bought on BOGOF from Tesco quite a while back, used one tube and really didn't like it, too heavy, didn't foam enough and no noticeable benefit of using.
Soap & Glory Girligo x 2 - Don't mind using this but think its not moisturising enough to really bother with, especially at this time of year. Can also get everywhere and leave the floor slippy
Dove Colour Radiance Conditioner - Had this ages, was a magazine freebie with something else I actually wanted but can't remember what that was - have tried a few Dove hair products and not got on with them
Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dehumidifier x 2 - Been in the stash since Day 1, still not used at all so not likely to be
Charles Worthington Takeaways Relax & Unwind Straightening Cream - Again, another stash relic, creams are too heavy for my hair, I still to serums, sprays or mousse
M&S Zingy Lemon & Juicy Lime Bath Cavier - These were part of a set of about six or eight I had as a Christmas gift a few years back - If I used them it would only be for the sake of it and I tend to take showers, not baths - don't want to just UU if I either don't enjoy or see a benefit from so out they go
Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Leave-in Conditioner - Again, leave-in is too heavy for my fine hair
Euceryn Cleanser - got quite a few hot cloth/rinse off cleansers to UU as it is
Phew think that's me all up-to-date now, Nov looking pretty good, if only for the GA's0 -
Please can someone help me? What is a PP list?
VALM - I'm a newbie on this thread, but I love your signature!
PP is Project Pan - Basically a list of things you put together and target to UU, strictly speaking I don't think you're meant to buy anything new until you've used everything on the list. I don't think many, if any, of us have been adopting it this rigidly, I think we're just using it to help us focus on items we can make disappear :T0 -
Woo hoo, UU are now over the 500 mark _party_ yay, will resist the temptation to treat myself! :cool:0

Thanks for the explanation!I have my ever growing Project Pan/PP list which I add to when I have time. I'll transfer it to the thread once I've gone through EVERYTHING, but it is lengthy. I'm such a magpie when it comes to "lovely smellies" and I feel wracked with guilt when I'm given another gift set and add it to the pile. Or there's another deal on stuff in Boots/the supermarket/anywhere and I HAVE to have it when I run out of stuff. Thing is, I never do run out of stuff, I just add to the pile.
