Thank you very much, it failed  but only on one thing and they can fix it this afternoon so I'm happy with that, especially as she's a bit of an old lady so can't ask for much more! :D Got a ticking off from OH for agreeing to have the work done without asking how much it would be but I was just relieved to be able to get it sorted and avoid a nightmare getting to work tomorrow, especially as I've got a big meeting I don't want to be stressed for!

We always have a flurry of newbies in Jan, I think its a lot of ppl's new year's resolution after splurges in the sales... We generally whittle back down to the hard core though after a month or two :rotfl: That said I was a Jan newbie and I'm resolutely still here and will remain even after the stash is totally nailed, its part of my support system :)

Fingers crossed that your car isn't too expensive! Good that it was just the one thing though and will be all sorted in time for you tomorrow.

I too was a January newbie this year and I'm still here :D I have said it many times but I really do love this thread and it's part of my support system too. :T

    Hello ladies!

Another hectic weekend of wedding planning which left little time for pampering and UUs! I do however have a UU from my PP list:

    16. Sanctuary Gentle Cream Exfoliator 100ml - WNBA, this was a real LHJ. Nice smell but I prefer gel scrubs to cream ones as I find them scrubbier, and I have another two of these left in the stash anyway from a Boots glitch over three years ago!

I doubt I will UU the remianing two items on my PP but I was being optimistic with these - next month!

    Another UU:

    17. John Frieda hair mask - WMBA as these work wonders when my hair needs a bit of TLC, but have plenty left in the stash.

Need to get to work compiling my December PP list!

VALM - I'm a newbie on this thread, but I love your signature!

Thank you and welcome. I don't think I'll ever graduate because I do have times when I feel the NEED to treat myself to something beauty related but I am doing better at carefully considering offers and avoiding emails than I used to.

The money soon mounts up, I ended up just putting cash in for use ups, give ways etc., as I don't carry too much cash (otherwise it evaporates from my purse:rotfl:) and it seemed counter intuitive to make a journey to the cash point to take out £5 or £10, but if I do it again I could just make an on-line transfer from current to savings account.

I had the same problem as I'd just keep dipping back into the jar for change for bus fares etc.

Also, nearly forgot to thank dolly re: the advent calendar. I saw this in the salon on Saturday. They had a promotion on that if you booked an appointment for January 2014 you could "open" one of the stockings to find an offer inside.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

The only cleansers left in my stash now are a small bottle of Elemis Tri Enzyme cleanser which I don't like - it strips my skin
    {snipped}

The Elemis Tri-enzyme wash is not a cleanser, it is a post cleanse treatment wash to resurface the skin. However, it can be used to freshen your face in the morning, but it is not a make-up remover.

Elemis recommend that you cleanse your face before you use this treatment wash.
  • Feeling a bit under the weather again today so just had a bath to finish off the other half of an Xmas eve (already ticked off) but I CAN declare a UU of a Cinders.
Oooooohhh twas a lovely smelling bath, one of my fave combos! Off to go and slather in as much potion moisturiser as I can (LHJ I've decided)
*I must use this up, I must use this up...*
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D

I love this stuff, I use it as a second cleanse about 3 or 4 times a week, my skin is dry side of normal and pretty sensitive, but I have no problems using it at all. Just to be on the safe side I do not use any exfoliation or exfoliating toner close to applying it.

That sounds like such a gorgeous bath - can't wait to use up two more bubble bars so I can buy a Christmas Eve!
How does Potion smell? All my Lushies recommend it to me, but I'm a little worried about buying Lush stuff online, scent can be so different to what you imagine!

  • Yay one unexpected UU:

Boots No. 7 Stay Perfect Nail polish: WNBA. Did not live up to its name, chipped in less than 24 hrs. Nail brush was also too thick so it was hard to apply the polish neatly. I can see why it has been discontinued, would have been angry if I had paid the full price of £7.

    Evening ladies, just caught up.

    UU's
The enchanter bath ballistic WBA if lush ever made it again.

Essential rose moisturiser WNBA was okay but I did not like it enough to buy agian

Dr Lip nipple balm 3ml WNBA too greasy and only covered my lips rather than making them softer

No 7 loose powder WBA I like it and it seems to lasts forever.

BS blusher WBA I am down to 1 blusher and I don't like the colour.

E Evening Falls WBA smells like twilight from lush but I have too much soap and they don't do it anymore.

Pear & Plum Crumble Whipped Cream Soap WBA I love whipped soap esspecially for shaving.

Monu glow body lotion WNBA it smelt awful and did not even give me a hint of colour.

BS ginger shampoo 250ml WBA HG for me

Yves rocher nutri-silk 150ml WNBA not moisturising enough for my hair.

Skin life energetic cellular cream 10 ml WNBA it was okay but again nothing worth purchasing.

Emma hardy amazing face serum 10ml WNBA I liked the product but it was so runny that I think I spilt more then I used.

Elemis pro collagen quartz mask 15 ml WMBA again enjoyed the product but I would not go out to specifically buy it unless it came in a set or was a GWP

Neutrogena concentrated hand cream 75 ml WBA HG and I can't find my last one so I will go any buy a few more.

Ponche shower gel WNBA I have no idea why I bought this in the first place, I can't stand the smell so this has been used as bathroom cleaner and handwashing detergent.

GA I have started to wrap my sister an advent
    2 sachets of vichy
    rhubard and custard bath bomb
    weleda shampoo
    FC solid conditioner
    Caudalie eye cream
    Nip and Fab leg cream
    English laundry perfume sample
    Laura Mercier body creme
    Maybelline rocket mascara
There is 7 more to add but I still need to finish it. I have put her in some samples of soap, scrubs. bubble bars and those won't count till they are used up.

    IN's
25 items/ samples an advent I bought in October I have no idea what most are, I can guess that there are bath bombs, scrubs, perfume samples and probably shower gel and body lotion but this is a guess as they are wrapped.

It would have been probably a good idea to have used a different background.

2 perfumes from a really small company I like both dupes of lush's scents tramp and sex bomb, again this was ordered early October.

    Evening all.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well with the craft fair. It was three hours long, I was completely under prepared but I still sold a good dozen items which was just fab. I'm waiting on pictures from the mass whovian wedding at the weekend, am desperate to see if anyone was wearing my jewellery!

I have three UUs to report:
Dead Sea Source ginger body wash 50ml
Champneys spa indulgence mediterranean bliss bubble heaven 50ml
Molton Brown warming eucalyptus bath and shower gel mini 30ml

I've been having more baths in a big to use my epilator more - it's working so far by having a lovely bubbly bath once a week.

The dead sea source has been discontinued for a very long time, it was a stash relic. So old because I used to dislike the smell of ginger, but I really liked this and will keep an eye out for ginger products in future.
Love the smell of the champneys mediterranean bliss, only two more champneys items to use before every item of my boxing day 2011 champneys purchases is used up. One is spluttering, one isn't started yet (hand cream).
    Enjoyed the MB, WBA.

I have a couple more splutterers so will hopefully have a couple more to report by the end of the month!

ETA: I forgot to say I've also done myself a little advent calendar with miniatures/samples/small sizes. I basically went through my stash and picked out all the small things I had been saving for 'best', with a slant on regular baths and treats, and will be using one a day throughout December.

That should hopefully even out the planned INs in the Xmas sales…!
