Glad you're feeling better Catriona P.OK so yesterday at the Trafford Centre we bought some Christmas gifts and I came away with some INs:-
Molten Brown Muberry and Thyme hand lotion. Used to just be White Mulberry but seems it's been revamped. Very nice still and I can see a difference in my skin already. Must keep buying this.
In L'occitane MrM bought me a gift set of the new Amber fragrance for Christmas which got us a free Acacia gift set comprising of a small bottle of perfume, soap and body lotion. I am "allowed" this now so will slip it into routine when there's room!
We were also offered another gift set at £15.00 (half price) so MrM bought this for my sister for her birthday present.
I bought MrM a tube of L'occitane foot cream which I too love.
For Emma for Christmas we bought a Lush Fab Christmas box set (I also got her a bar Honey I Washed the Kids soap, Christmas Eve bath bar and the Penguin bath bar for now), YSL Baby Doll mascara which came in lovely gift set with eye make up remover for same price and Nars Sin blusher. Nice thing about this is that she thinks it's discontinued and wont' get it. Whilst at the NARS counter I saw the lovely gift set of blushers containing Orgasm and have asked Santa for this.
MrM nearly had heart attack at the MAC counter which I expected!
Saw the lovely new Philosophy shower gels and love the smell of the Honey Buns one. Am making a note of this for sale time along with some more Pure Grace.
Ooh sounds like some lovely purchases there. What MAC shades did you end up getting? I still keep looking at the mally palette and the bobbi brown palettes :eek:0 -
VALM - your shopping trip sounds nice. The MAC eyeshadows are expensive but they are so lovely, I have about 6 which were £12 each or some were bought when Debenhams had 10% off but compared to the UD palettes they are expensive.
I will have ins later in the week (hopefully) I have made an order on Debenhams using some points and a gift card. It's great that you can spend your points online but I wish they would convert them straightaway and also confirm when you order how many points you have earned.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hello ladies, it's nice to still see a few familiar names on here! I used to post on the original 'No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries' threads back in 2010 and 2011 but fell by the wayside a while ago.
I'd like to join in again for this month please. My addiction appears to have moved on from toiletries to nail polish, so I'd like to get some encouragement to start using up some of my stash and feel better about myself.
I look forward to chatting with you all.
PS what's a project pan? :think:Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
Hi Babafette!
Good to have you back (I have only joined in this year but have been following the thread since the start, so recognise your name!)
As I understand it from the way it's evolved in the last couple of weeks, Project Pan on here is not exactly the same as what you'll find if you google it (picking ten items that you must finish before anything else or buying anything else), but it's our new way of identifying items from our stash to work hard on rather than ignore because they're too full/too long-lasting or whatever... Thanks for the welcome back. I've certainly managed to curb my buying since my original posts, I'm just not doing very well at using anything up. Everything seems to last forever.......Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
I have increased my PP list. It's now 18 items long, so I shan't write them all out!
I think I will scrub out the house bath this weekend and have a nice hot soak. Having a bad bout of restless nights just now, and I'll do anything to help me sleep through!0 -

they're terrible aren't they! I spent nearly 7 weeks trying to resolve something with them, it was like banging my head against a wall!
Oh me too!
I contacted them about a week ago about the fact that I was trying to buy two Lancome perfumes but it wasn't adding the free gift despite it showing the free gift promo pic on the item pages.
After god knows how long on the phone, being told "their system didn't allow them to call me back" (yeah right!!) and being put on hold at least 3 times while nothing came of it, I gave up and e-mailed, explaining that the gift was adding to the basket with some other products inc. perfumes but not with the two I wanted.
I was asked to send them screen shots, so I did, 5 in total of all the ones I'd tried that didn't work.
I then get a totally useless response back (too late as the free gift card promo had ended 2 days before) saying that it wasn't adding to the basket as the gift was out of stock!:mad::mad:
I told them that was total rubbish as they knew it was adding with other items and they obviously couldn't be bothered fixing the technical problem, plus they hadn't even bothered reading my previous messages before replying.
I also added that their customer service was useless and I'd be taking my business elsewhere in future
I sincerely hope there's a nice biggggg glitch with them in the near future so I can take full advantage and rob them of lots and lots of undeserved profit! Not to be a naughty enabler but Boots also have it (the Lancome Christmas Box) as do HoF and Harvey Nichols - If anyone were planning on getting it Boots might work out better as they've a few different promotions plus AP etc, especially if at the extra points event - not sure whether you get the extra GWP that Debs have though HTH

Deliberately walked through the cosmetic aisles today with the intention of not buying anything. Look, maybe touch, don't buy.
It wasn't easy! But I came home empty handed. Just kept reminding myself that I have much already at home ... can "shop" through my existing stuff that perhaps I haven't looked through in awhile.
Plus, stores with stuff and stuff will always be there ... they aren't going away! When I make a substantial dent in my current collection, I'll have earned the reward to perhaps buy something new.
My declaration here is that I will buy no more toiletries ... NOTHING ... until the new year. I don't need to. Doesn't mean I won't acquire them in other ways (gifts, hand me arounds, samples, work freebies) ... but at least I won't spend money on stuff that will just add to the clutter.
Wish me luck! I expect my willpower to be tested over the next little while ...0
