Only managed £224.78 this month, must try harder next :D

Have they aggregated your spend and given you 4% (£8.99) or just 4% of whole pounds in each individual spend? Or did you spend that all on one occasion?
  • Just used the link supplied by Dr Cuckoo to apply for and be accepted for the cashback card this morning. Also got one for my wife. Thanks for that:T
What I did notice was that when I had completed my application and pressed the "Great I'm Done" button, it took me back to a home page inviting me to apply for a Luma credit card but it was for the standard card without the 4% cashback. Went back into site using the link for my wife's application.

i can only assume they turned me down coz they realise i was probably only applying for the cashback

I have a good credit rating and I got accepted, so I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. Difficult to know what their exact criteria are.

They base the 4% on the total qualifying spend.

For the first time ever i've been turned down for credit lol. Got my letter today. They claim to have their own method of credit scoring, and, given my very good credit rating, i can only assume they turned me down coz they realise i was probably only applying for the cashback. Oh well, you can't win 'em all! :-)
No telling how they base their criteria, I have an existing Cap1 card with a £7.5K limit and paid off in full every month for the past 6+ years and I got accepted.

    For info

Got my log in details from cap1 today. Applied about a week ago. £500 limit.

Surprised I got accepted as don't really fit their supposed profile

Will spend £225 each month to earn the !max £9 cashback
    Basically free money

    Good luck everyone

Btw heard nothing from LUMA to say successful application, no instant decision either. Just an email from cap1 a week later with log in details
  • I got rejected for Luma. Disappointing, but I have two other cards with good limits so I'll not lose any sleep over it. Am working very hard to get as much from Aqua as possible in the meantime!

I have two Cap One cards already. Classic and World Mastercard.

Just got a rejection letter for the Luma card. They mention that although some existing Cap One customers are considered, I didn't meet their criteria this time.

I got it. I have a cap one card already (old one - 1% cashback) and a good credit rating. I have 4 other CCs at the moment and do draw out cash abroad on Halifax Clarity.
Obviously I don't know what exactly they are judging on.
