EDIT: And what I meant is that Capital One are still hosting the Luma Cashback application - it's just that the Luma site doesn't link to it any more.

What part of "The Luma Cashback Card is currently unavailable" do you not understand?

Hacking into the website to get to the application form of a product that "is currently unavailable" does not make it available.

  • I didn't 'hack into the website'. They are advertising the card right now on Facebook using that link so clearly it is still available.

Anyway, can't be bothered to get into an argument about this. I'm out.
  • can someone check if their credit card agreement shows any info on the 4% cashback?

I've just received my agreement to sign and send back but i cant find anything regarding any cashback. Have they sneakily swapped the cashback card to the standard version?

I haven't received a paper agreement to sign, mine was done online during the application process, but the following is what I think relates to the cashback, though it comes under the title of "rebate":

    Rebates
You will be enrolled in theCapital One rebate programme. For the first £225 worth of Purchases at Supermarkets and Fuel Stations applied to your account in each statement period you will receive a rebate of 4%. "Supermarket" includes, but is not limited to Marks & Spencer, Asda, Iceland, The Co-operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Somerfield, Tesco, Ocado, Farmfoods, Lidl and Waitrose and their online grocery shopping websites. Purchases at concessions within Supermarkets,Metro and Local Supermarkets, Supermarket branded outlets in service stationsand railway stations, and Supermarket branded stores and websites for whom grocery shopping is not the main activity (for example Tesco Direct) may not be eligible for a rebate. "Fuel Station" includes, but is not limited tothose operated by Supermarkets, BP, Esso, Shell and Texaco. Each rebate will appear on your January statement and will be credited to your account in January unless we notify you of another method. No rebate will be paid to youif at that time you are in default under the terms of this agreement. However the amount of that year's rebate will accrue and may be payable in a following year. No rebate will be payable if this agreement is terminated or your accountis closed. No rebate is payable in respect of cash withdrawals, balance transfers, or purchases which are refunded by the retailer. We may change therules of this programme. We will tell you about any change.

On my paperwork it's stated on the first bullet point in the letter (about 5 lines down). This ones quite easy to spot.

On the back of the letter (1st page) which says "SUMMARY BOX" at the bottom in tiny print there is a "**" which says about the rebate programme and the rebate of 4%.
  • My card finally arrived today! Anyone noticed how thin and cheap the luma card feels compared to other cards?

Yes, I noticed that. I wonder if that's the future of cards. They won't last so long in my back pocket if that's the case.

i received Luma card last week, used it at the weekend and when I log in to my account the 4% cashback is listed. No correspondence I had stated 4% cashback, I had to ask when I activated my card.
