Need 4 - 1 bride, 3 bridesmaids. That sounds beautiful what you did. Did you source the flowers from eBay/Hobbycraft?
On Mortgage note: £2 earned from liftsharing. This is my first week of doing this, and so far has worked well. Actually the girl I give a lift to lives and works opposite to me so only 3 mins max out of my way.
If anyone else drives, would like to recommend liftshare dot com as perhaps a way of earning a little extra/saving fuel.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

Sent Bluemoo! I just had a nosy upstairs, I still have the brides one and one of the bridesmaids - If I had had them all I would have happily sent them to you! xxMFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

Ahhh, thanks very much.
I am at work, so will have to look at the pics when I get home.
On a lovely, I'm very thankful note, my sis has kindly offered to chip in for the cost of our hotel stay as a bday/xmas/wedding present combined.
Looking like the wedding budget will get a boost.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
Whilst I am not spending ridiculous amounts on my wedding, I do want it to be a day to enjoy with all my loved ones.
I was wondering if anyone here had been in a similar conundrum
as to Wedding/Mortgage? If so, what did you decide to do and did you regret your choice?

Happy Friday everyone!
Got a MSE weekend planned - tonight pasta with HM sauce and leftover gammon. Overtime tomorrow so that will be a bit of money end of December.
Though Sunday off out, so may spend a bit on nice cafe lunch.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
Thank you for popping on to my diary BlueMoo
I've now caught up with yours and wanted to say hi and lots of luck on your journey.
We pretty much ignored the mortgage and concentrated on our wedding when it came to itBut we had a budget which we stuck too and didn't get into debt so don't regret it in the slightest.
Did you really have salad cream with a cooked meal? :eek:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi BlueMoo, we had a "cheaper" wedding (got married abroad on a holiday we were already on and just had a party here) it cost about £5k with the holiday too and we don't regret it, we have some wonderful memories!
As Smlsave said as long as you're not getting into debt then enjoy your day how ever much you have budgeted for. if you come under budget then you know what to do with the surplus :rotfl:
Your mortgage goals seem to be similar to ours, we finish in 2032 if we carry on paying the little overpayments we currently do, although i'm hoping to blast this when we change mortgage next year!
Good luck on your journey.. xMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
SmlSave : Yes, I love salad cream!! :rotfl: Trying to use it instead of mayonnaise as less fattening. Thanks for that - I really want to be MF, but at the same time I really just want to have the best time at my wedding celebrating our relationship and commitment. Apologies for the big slice of cheese, but I hope you get what I mean. I sometimes think that money could go to the mortgage, but I honestly WANT to spend it.
ShalaMoo - That sounds beautiful. Unfortunately, I want to get married in my childhood church. This was something I would not compromise on. It just has the most wonderful memories for me, and I honestly couldn't even imagine getting married somewhere else. Yes, not getting into debt for it - have been saving very very hard, and hopefully should in fact have a bit left over (fingers crossed!)
It does seem a long old haul, but with all you folks and this diary, I'm sure it will fly by.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
So good and bad weekend on the mortgage front.
Plus:)
Worked overtime on Saturday
No spend as brought lunch with me
Had lovely supper with beef from the freezer, curry sauce bulked out with extra tomatoes/spices/veggies.
Applied for new savings account to put mini payments (I can only OP the mortgage by standing order so can't make ad-hoc payments)
Minus:(
Spent £40 on lunch on Sunday (though the leftovers fed us both for supper, and me for lunch today)
Got shortchanged at the newsagents
Drove into town instead of walking
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is refreshed for the new week.
Happy MondayM3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0
