Hurdler - That's so interesting. I'm looking to stay near Grand Gaube - is this an area you know much about?
I picked Mauritius over Maldives as I really felt the country had a lot more to offer in terms of different scenery and in particular the nature reserves.
Love to know any insider knowhow on where to go/what to see?
I am pretty hopeless about the surrounding area but I'll email a cousin who lives there and see what she says!

Also wondering if French is the main language over there? I was hjoping to use the holiday as an excuse to brush up on my French as it has been over 6 years since I have used it properly and I'm afraid it's more than rusty!

Thought I would update actual/current figures.

    Actual: 178125
    Current: 172435.25

    Current OP: 211

    SO:
    Overpaying would save you
    £32,315 in interest alone,
and mean you pay it off in full
6 years and 7 months earlier

For all those who think this seems an impossible dream, or feel like their pennies are not contributing - here it is in Black & White.

Those simple sacrifices, be it saving £1 on a bus journey, or saving £100 from cutting your food bill - it all makes SUCH a difference.

I totally agree - it's amazing how just saving up those little £s here and there can make such a difference.

    Thanks RunningGirl!

How I wish I lived up to your name - I can mostly be found sedately walking to my car! Hehe!

Yep - it can really feel like you are doing nothing - but the very fact that you are aware of your finances is the first BIG step!

So, it's 7 pm and we've already nearly run out of sweets!:D

Had nice supper of herby gammon, mashed potatoes and mixed veg. (OK, OK I may have had a cheeky bit of salad cream) :embarasse

Can't wait until I get paid next month - only 4 weeks to go!

QQ - I have a NW mortgage - is it true that I can only OP if it is done by STO?

Our colour theme was black and ivory, so we had cream roses, done up with an ivory ribbon... we actually did them ourselves and I have to say they looked lovely and were very MSE indeed and nobody noticed they weren't real lol. We went with them so they could be ready and sitting waiting - no running to florists etc. Plus a lot cheaper! We did the buttonholes too :j I'm quite crafty though - would you have a go at doing them yourself do you think? xx

Yes - more than happy to do them myself. I was planning to get all the flowers fresh and do them myselfanyway. Thought artificial would mean I could do them a month or so before saving me the hassle of the last week which is meant to be very stressful.
Do you have any pics you can link? I've got to admit I'm a little apprehensive as to how they might look - some on ebay do look awfully fake.
Have been posting on the Wedding board but seems to be fairly lonely over there. Oh well!
