    Good Evening Folks,

A very cold, but bright day in NI today! I have not been able to add to the NSD collection as yet, as I had a spendy yesterday and today on tubs of sweets for xmas and on household goods! It has been a long day, so I'm off to bed! I hope everyone is well and sleeps well also.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

    Just to update -
I managed to resist temptation to buys things for the drinks/snack machine at work on my night shift last night so meant NSD #3. Being on nights last night meant sleeping most of the day then picking up the little one from school, popping to my parents who just got back from holiday and coming home for tea - which means today was
    NSD#4 and 4-in-a-row.
Very very pleased with this so far. My month ends on 27th Nov which is 23 days away - I'm quite confident I can manage at least 11 NSDs out of these (usually when I'm at work and on nights is easiest but its still counted).
On the down side - which visiting my parents my little one took a trophy she had won last week, to show then, which she dropped and cracked - which will eventually result in a spend to repair! Then literally 30 seconds later on setting off to home my OH reversed into a back street to turn around and backed into a wall - which again will result in a spend! :(
    GC- June £0/£150

    OD
    £0/£1500 OD £6.23/£900
    Debt paid-£6.23/£2400
  • Am I allowed to change my rules a few days in, please? I've decided I'd like to classify budgeted and planned for grocery spends (i.e. the weekly shop) as still within NSDs, so long as I stick to the list and within the weekly budgets I've set myself. Any other items bought during the week, or outside of the grocery list, shoves it into the 'spendy' category. It just doesn't make much sense to me to count something that's essential, budgeted, and carefully planned for as a 'spendy' thing; my goal is to reduce the unnecessary expenditures. There have already been way too many of those this month, sadly!

    Hi Stranded,

Your rules are exactly that, yours to stick to or change as you wish/need. Sounds very sensibly thought out, as I have quite a budgetry challenge my own rules are similar except I count as spend if I buy anything I don't need on the grocery shop even if it still comes in under budget. (Otherwise I might buy cake instead of bread and chocolate instead of fruit:rotfl:)
Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Declaring my 1st of the month today. Would have been a spendy day but. decided to return my library book unfinished rather than get fined and walked with the dog into town to do it, so no fines, fuel or parking :j

Nice one Katzen - and you and the dog had exercise too :D

Well done Beth - fighting the night time munchies:eek: is a challenge itself - extra NSD too, sorry about the crrrrrunch:mad:

This is what I hate. And it is where I fall down.
Yesterday,I did a huge Tesco shop ,and, aiming for today to be NSD,even paid my council tax over the phone rather than wait for today and pay at post office.
Come this morning,a very good friend texts to ask if she and children could come over and give my daughter a birthday present for Saturday.
Despite having spent £140 on groceries yesterday, realised I didnt even have a packet of biscuits to offer,so had to go out and spend today! And that was all I had to buy!If I was more organised, today would have been NSD.
However,I do believe that ,since school and work start back tomorrow, will be able to start capturing those NSD's again.
About to start potting money for the week.....

Thanks for the fast reply! That's gonna be my policy, I think ;) I'm gonna allow myself one 'treat' per week (chocolate, a pudding, or super delicious but naughty/expensive cheese), but anything else that's not on the list will shove it into spendy territory. I'm also loving the 'scan while you shop' in my newly renovated Mr Ts. So much easier to make sure I'm not going over budget!

NSD #3 for me today - and thats 3 in a row woohoo!! not a penny spent by hubby or by me. Hubby gets paid tomorrow so will draw out the rest of the monthly cash for our "budget envelopes" - this method really works for us. if there is no money in our account, we cant be impulsive and spend on rubbish.

    Hello to.....

    Positivelypurple - welcome back.
Strandedinaber - well done on paying that pesky CC off, have faith in yourself to stick to your budget. :D
Kate_fixing_it - well done on the low and only essential spends. :D
    Bottleofred - :hello:
Saver-upper - what a pain, I've also been caught out like that in the past. We don't have 'treats' in the house, too tempting, so often have to pop to the shops to cater for unexpected guests. But if it's all you bought then at least that's a positive. :D

Some great NSD being declared, what a great start to November.

Oh and NSD # 2 for me today, we didn't go anywhere. I've suddenly gone mad on my housework, I blitzed the house on Friday, and then started on my bedroom and the spare room again today, I even cleaned the window frames and outside window sills today, the patio doors inside and out, whilst little man was sleeping. :D
