Hi Fae, Happy New Year!
Well done with the breakdown cover savings! I need to seek out a new one this year too.
Also well done on the Christmas presents, it's a good idea to cut back on them and I always hope that people won't mind if you've not give an 'equal' gift as the idea of giving gifts is to give, not to count what comes back and I'm sure your family will understand.Debt: [STRIKE]£8652[/STRIKE]£8550:eek:

Hi All,It is very exciting to be in my debt free year, just got to keep on with the focus. After taking a good look at OH pay slips we have realised he is on the wrogn tax code and paying far to much tax, in fact more than me and I earn more than him !! So he has been trying to get through to HMRC to sort it, we are hopeful that they will eventually have enough staff to answer the phone, that really does annoy more I'm sure if we owed tax they would get onto us quickly enough. Still eventually it will give us some extra money.I hope my family will understand re gifts, I would really like to change gift giving to one small well thought out gift rather than the lots of things we seem to do at the moment. We are all adults now, so I really think that would be enough, going to see if I can be brave enough to suggest it, I did try last year but it didn't seem to go down well, I may say that's what I'm going to do, and leave it at that, I don't want to seem mean, but I don't need lots more 'stuff' and I know that they don't either, I think that's been the big lesson I have learnt from paying back my debts.Got a few things to sell on ebay, so need to get on with that over the next few weeks, won't raise huge amounts of money but it all helps.Hope everyone is having a good January.FaeLBM 29/10/2013 £14,218.00 As of 13/04/2014 £6477.00

Good to hear from you Fae
Fingers crossed the tax gets sorted asap. It will take a bit of pressure of you
Agree with the gifts but stick with it.
2012 I told my sisters and bro about ditching crimbo presents. No it did not go down well, but they agreed. 2013 those same sisters and bro ditched crimbo presents. Maybe your crowd just need someone to start the ball rollingWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hi,
Well I've just update my signature and realised I have paid of £2500.00 since I restarted, really please with that
Looking forward to this month payday next week as I'll be able to get rid of the overdraft, which is very high interest so will be please to see the back of that one.
I have now managed to get all but one cards onto 0%, and the one that is left there is only some spending that is creating interest so quite a small amount and this will get paid of in March so then it will be 0% interest all the way.
This is the payday when I can start making really large payments so the debt will really start to come down quickly so looking forward to seeing that happen, think that will really help to keep me motivated.
I turn 40 next Tuesday and as they say life begins at 40 in my case a debt free life begins at 40oh and of course my Birthday celebrations will be very MSE.

Hi Fae, Wow as usual you seem very on top of eveything. I hope that you manage to get HMRC to answer the phone, you never know it may be a nice bonus you were not expecting you get back
I hope everything is going well with you, and please keep us posted on how things are going. X

Hi
Headabovewater when you said big day I first thought of payday :rotfl:shows how my mind works at he moment.
OH got through to hmrc and is on the wrong tax code and due a rebate all should be corrected in his Feb pay so really good news. We don't know how much he is due back yet but I think it will be a few hundred
Had a few sales on eBay so a little bit extra there, and a little less house clutter so good on all counts.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.

:rotfl: Old age, huh?!? :rotfl:
Well, payday too
Yay for ebay sales. I've managed to get rid of a couple of things too which is good. Little bit more ££ for moi
I got hours cut at work, so OH rang HMRC ref the credits. We told them I was going down to 24 hours - which is 3 days. But I was obviously having a 'moment' coz it should've been 22.5 hours. Only noticed coz the award came through this morning and OH was going to get less than he was already getting, not more!Hopefully get that sorted asap too!
