Another 1lb off for me this week! Delighted! I'm not getting married till next year but if I lose one pound every week till my birthday in August I will have lost 2 stone! I'm a slow bunny!
although, I have to say this is the longest I've kept up SW so hopefully the results will speak for themselves!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Hi,long time lurker, first time poster here.
I'm getting married May 25th this year and have been on a health kick since about June last year. So far, I’ve lost 3 stone 2lb and am aiming for another stone before the big day which I’m quietly confident I will achieve.
I'm not going to lie, it’s not been easy. In fact it’s been hard work. But – I’ve stuck at it. Of course there have been weeks when the scales haven’t moved or even worse, they’ve moved in the wrong direction but I’ve kept going.
Foodwise, I do try to be as good as possible. I’ve cut out all snacking at work and eat only fruit through the day. I have a normal meal on an evening but pile on the veg rather than fill up on bread. I do allow myself a little leeway on a weekend, maybe a take away or a meal out and a few drinks. It’s not to everyones taste I suppose, but it works for me.
Exercise wise, I started doing the couch to 5k back in June and I struggled with running for 1 minute at a time. Last night I did a 10k run in just over an hour. To say I'm pleased with myself is a major understatement! 4 weeks before the wedding my OH and I are doing a duathlon – 5k run, 20k ride and a 2.5k run. If I get through that then I’ll know in my own mind that I’ve done everything I possibly can to look as good as I can on the big dayJ
Wishing you all success with your shedding...it will definitely be worth it. And remember, as the old saying goes, slowly, slowly, catchy monkey!0 -

Hi,
Please can I join? I don't want to lose masses of weight, or big day I in October, and ideally I'd like to lose 8lbs, but most importantly to me I'd like to be fit and healthy (and motivated!) I'm a lazy so and so and use any excuse to not exercise! XPAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Hi all, I would love to join you. We haven't booked at venue/date but we're aiming for November 2014 unless we can get an earlier cancellation.
I joined Slimming World just after Christmas and since then I have gone from 11st 5.5lb down to 10st 10.5lb.
It's a bit frustrating because most of the people at my SW group are dropping weight really fast. I also suspect my weight will have gone up at my next weigh-in as my birthday was in the week and I have also had a terrible cold meaning that I have not felt up to the gym.
I would really like to get down to 10 stone as this would bring me back into the healthy BMI range. It should be doable before the wedding but the challenge will be keeping it off!0 -
this may sound silly but the best way you can lose weight is to dance! I lost all of my baby weight after investing in a dance game its fun addictive and doesnt even feel like excersize. I went from 13 stone to 9 stone in no time. Its kind of something that is so fun you will keep it up.0

The scales aren't being kind to me, still at the same loss I was two weeks ago, but my running is up to 4.5 miles 3 x a week and my legs are toning up nicely.

I'm probably going to get a lot of unhappiness for posting this, but I really feel compelled to. For those of you who are 'scale-watching'. Stop. Now.
This article does a pretty good explanation of why the numbers on the scale mean nothing in terms of how healthy you are and how THIN you are. Seriously. NOTHING.

By all means, exercise. It's awesome, and will be good for your body in the long run. And by all means focus on having a healthy balanced diet - also good in the long run. But turn away from the scales, because they tell you nothing.Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0
