    Please count me in :)

I failed miserably in October in part by not getting my spreadsheets and budgets sorted in time. Once off track that was it!

    NOvember - Bring it on!

    :TGood Morning NOvemberites!:T

The month is nearly upon us and I wish to impart some knowledge. Through-out my challenges and my own journey I have realise that compartmentalising (check out the early morning big word!!!) my different budgets help a lot. And keeping a spending diary helps even more.

Others that follow my challenges do the same and I am sure I pilfered the idea off one of them. However.. I would like to encourage you all to use the envelope system.

It's simple. Food budget in one envelope. Miscellaneous budget in another. Petrol in a third. Christmas fund in another.

This alleviates any "cross-over" when you are out and about with the food money being spent on petrol, stops you reaching for the credit card because you will have cash with you ready to go and keeps things distinct, uniform and clean.

This also means leaving cards at home.
Into the little spend diary / speadsheet you keep will be EVERYTHING you spend. It makes fun reading after 6 months of frugal living when you see where your money has gone.

So envelopes at the ready ( or little purses as I have), spend diary / notebook open and posed...

    It's nearly time to begin!

(This month will also see the return of a cheesy rhyming ditty to kick start the month - and yes I stay up until midnight to post it!!! ..it's called dedication you know:))

Please can I join again NSK. I'm now getting into a routine with DS & DD so must stick to it this month. The envelope idea is definitely something I need to stick to as well.
