MORNING!!!
Ugh! Is it just me or is this month going REALLY slowly!
I had some issues getting up this morning which means tonight I might actually get to bed before 23:30. Don't tell Mummy please... despite being 30 and living in a copletely different part of the country I still feel compelled to do what she tells me..... and she will tell me to go to bed early for once. BUT I CAN'T...:rotfl:
So Stewby - MASSIVE congratulations to your OH on his interviews! I have all my digits crossed for you both and really hope something pulls together.... However I need to ask ( devils advocate and all that same as what I did to Siouxsie) .....why are you considering such an expensive item when you are in debt? Are you and Siouxsie in cahoots to gang up on me and cajole me into giving you the green light..?... I am kidding of course (kinda) but I think since you are so early to the debt busting game perhaps treats of this size&price (considering the epic holiday you are about to embark on) should wait a while no?......Just asking though....:o
Kerfuffle I see what you mean by your example. It's the norm for me to consider eating out a once in a blue moon treat. My friends sister eats out every weekend. My style of living is normal to me as well and what I have seen and learned from my parents is normal although to others it would be extreme... Although Pheonix I know what you mean, sometimes purse strings pulled too tight in childhood equals a spender in adult life..... although we are an entirely different age. "Wasting money" so to speak to our Grandparents ( who would never have had such easy access to loans etc ) is a massive part of not spending money... do you really need it was something I was always asked as a child...
Very interesting to see how we all grew up.. and how we translate that into our daily lives or not... Hmmmmm I sense a new thread topic perhaps...
So today sees the releas of The Hunger Games. I really need to go home and bake something for my friends birthday on Saturday but I might so that when I get home on Friday ( another late night ) cause I am SO EXCITED!!!!
The Butler was very good. I nearly cried at the end. The actors were superb but again nothing that needs a massive screen, no special effects etc.. Defo worth a watch when it comes out. It will make you want to learn more about world history....
CR - what a nuisance regarding the dentist. Have you no pliers and superglue handy - it all works the same! :rotfl:..Hope you get stupid Wonga sorted out ok... and never return to them...
Oh AppleMuncher .. you say that now. Wait to see what I have in store for you.......................(kidding)...
Pheonix whats your plan money wise after debt freedom...?
Shyspender - just opened a tin of the same this morning. I love a peach I do... Well done on your WeBuy payment.. I am awaiting £15 from TopCashBack for my bike insurance....Grr wish they would hurry up. I am going to spend it on me though..; - )
TipToes I never write out what I spend all my money on on my spreadsheet... just the totatls. I might do that from January though ( list EVERYTHING individually) as I am really needing to push myself this time. I want to keep track of Supermarket spends more than anything so am going to have to figure out an amazing way of listing anything....
Right spreadsheet rummaging....
Onwards and Upwards............(round two at Lily Allens store today for a blouse ).........“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Morning!
Well yesterday had a row with DH about which account the children's Christmas money was going into. DH wanted to move it in to our joint account because he can't keep track of his spending:( I wanted it in my account because there are still DDs to go from the joint account and I don't want it to be swallowed up by that.
Anyway yesterday was a SFD today has not been because I have had to top up on friut and also got 4 reduced items. Thats 70p from the shopping tin left. It's over because DH STILL keeps buying stuff from his account  from work, yes we need it but I so wish he would take the blooming money from the tin :mad:it's so difficult to get an accurate picture of spending when someone is constantly spending £5 here and there. I don't know, shall I just let him get on with it or shall I give him a talking to? Although until he has a LBM there is probably not a lot of point!
Sorry I feel like I am always complaining about my DH!
On another note i have two ebay items to post today and two unpaid items to chase up.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Stewby Fingers crossed for OH and his new job :j
Kerfuffle Apologies for butting in and going off tangent yesterday
Kat I have a very loose debt freedom plan that changes on a weekly basis! I am definitely going to open an ISA and aim to save for an emergency fund. However, its likely I'll need to invest in transport next year, be it a better car, a motorbike or a campervan.. or all 3 if the lottery comes up!
Today has already started on a spendy note! Recently, I have been deleting Grrrroupon emails without looking at them in order to remove the temptation to spend but one caught my eye this morning advertising a 9" android tablet with all the gibbings for £89. My laptop works just fine but I like the convenience the Tablet offers. I have put the rest of my birthday money towards it and paid the small difference. So its in the post! :j
An afternoon of 'cream tea catch up' with a friend then batch cooking meals for work tomorrow as its bed to work mode for the next 5 days.
6 more sleeps til pay day!! Must get The Book and highlighters out!
Toodle pip everyone :wave:Ninja Saving Turtle

Just a quick update....
Sunday was a sfd, Monday I gave DS1 his college money but DS2 didn't need dinner money this week. Tues was a food shop to grand total of £41.66. Yesterday and today are sfd.s
I'm definitely not going to reach the sfd target but will get as close as I can. Food and misc spends are going really well though. Also I donated £3 to the trussell trust.0 -
SFDs - 9/25
Groceries - £146/ 240
Lunch to work - 14/20
Declutter - 20+/20 items
Earn - £21.25/80
Toiletries - £3/£10
Social - 3/3
Xmas - £135/£150
CC Paid in full
Today wasn't meant to be a SFD as I needed some toiletries (been using DH's deodrant as I've run out but it smells like sweaty feet on me, urgh!) but I've forgotten to bring my purse with me today...or at least I hope I have and haven't actually lost it!
I tried masking the aroma of DH's deo with some body spray I keep at work but someone said our office like perming lotion:p
So another SFD
Mrs GSR don't worry about always moaning about Hubby, we all need an outlet for the frustration. I just moan at the cats about my man along the lines of "Oh, so daddy hasn't bothered to to put the washing machine on a spin" and "I guess mummy's going to have to clean the bathroom again, eh?" you get the ideaWhen they're waiting to be fed, my cats can be very attentive and empathetic, they even mioaw in agreement with me, oh yes they do!

Thanks for everyones positive comments yesterday. Sometimes I can't see the wood for the trees!
Feeling much better and so much more up for it today!
Although, I have got to take the dog to the vets tonight, so that has blown my SFD out of the window. However, I have taken advantage of this and bought some of my Christmas presents today. If I'm going to waste it, I may as well be productive with it!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -

Thanks his missus.
He forgot to put DDs car seat back in my car yesterday but luckily we have spare carseats, I spoke to him on the phone and he was very apologetic.
Trouble is DD will probably say "daddy, mummy was very cross because you forgot the car seat, you're very naughty" *cringe*Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Hi All
Been a busy week and tried to be very good not spending this week. Will have to be a spendy day tomorrow as I need to get flour and icing sugar for the cakes for Playgroup Christmas Fair (yes, I'm baking!!) I got collared into baking some cakes as they saw fairy cake in my daughters lunch box. When I agreed to do this, news went to my son's school down the road, and now making cakes and mince pies there too. I must be mad.
OH was away for a few days with work this week, so managed to do all my housework, so my house is now tidy-ish now, can never stay tidy for long with my lo's.
Making homemade pizza for tea tonight and finishing off my ironing.0 -

PheoniX- You didn't butt in, you joined in - seriously, you started a new topic, maybe even a new thread. No apologies necessary. I enjoyed reading your thoughts and opinions.

NSK - My Gran would have a fit at the money I've wasted, I'm so embarrassed about some of my past spending habits that I blush at the thought. Live and learn.
Well there seems to be a lot of cahooting and cajoling going on on this thread this morning :rotfl:which is good, it does feel to have been a long month but we're probably 3/4 of the way through it (give or take a couple of hours).
I'm already making plans for December - trying to decide whether I should actually buy a turkey or whether to just use 2 chickens that are in the freezer. I really want to keep costs down this Christmas, I'm happy to spend the money I've budgeted for gifts, but it's all the extras I need to work on.
The scores on the doors are the same as last night as it's still early morning for me, but today I have my hairdressers appointment and I'm also going to see what bargainous goodies I can get with my 3.00 charity money. Plus I'll do a small shop for myself to see us into next week.
Have a good day everybody.
PS.... oooooh, cream tea :drool:0
