I am looking at maybe getting one of the NowTv boxes which comes with a 3 month Sky Cinema pass. At the end of the 3 months, can I cancel the pass and then immediately add a new one? The passes are 241 at the moment, so £9.99 for 2 months, (and from what I can see online, they are valid for 12 months) and if I purchase through TCB that is another £5.50 off. This would seem to be so much better than just continuing with the subscription that I am wondering if it is allowed, or whether the passes can only be used by new customers. Can anyone clarify this for me please?0

There is a lot of noise around pass validity for existing customers with Now TV. I think they need to sort it out, because I find it something of a barrier to re-subscribing.
There are certainly "new customer" offers. And there are some eBay sellers who give similar warnings for the passes they sell (which are very cheap).
OTOH, there are no such warnings on, for example, the Argos Now TV bundle listings, which means that if they didn't work, you could easily get a refund.0 -

Note, you can cancel as soon as you activate the pass. The pass will remain active.koru0 -
As long as the terms of the second pass are not restricted to new customers, you should be fine. I only ever use passes.

Thanks for that. I activated one a couple of days ago that I bought back in April. I thought I might have to wait 14 days.
Its good to see they are now selling cheap passes on line, as I feel slightly guilty about buying boxes I don't need just to get cheap passes! Although I've also bought the boxes for the cheap Avios that you get from the frequent Tesco offers.0 -
Even if the passes expire they may still be valid as the 12month runs from purchase, had no problem activating via chat.
Tend to go 6month ent + 3m movies over the winter £40 and 2 boxes last year, vouchers for this winter yet to activate. £99 still a bit steep but if the voucher deals dry up simple approach.0 -
I'm not sure ,but not everyone may need a How Tv box,as our tv has a Now app,as well as ones for Netflix, Amazon and other film providing services.0

The NowTV box is fairly irrelevant to a degree as you just need your NowTV username and password and then you can use it on up to four devices two at a time. This may be TV, PC, console or the Now TV box.
The NowTV box is the way most people will use the service but its not exclusive by any means.0 -
Until recently, the Now TV box has been the cheapest way to get the passes. You can currently get a box from Argos with a three month Sky Cinema pass for £19.99
Tesco are selling boxes for £12.50 with 1 month of Cinema or two months of Now TV for £12.50. But the Tesco offer also comes with 500 extra Clubcard points. Some Avios collectors are buying these in bulk just to get cheap Avios (and reselling the boxes and passes on Ebay).
I have two spare boxes that I don't need which I bought earlier this year for the cheap passes and the club card points.
The boxes are also useful if you have a TVs that are not smart, as you get smart functionality with them, so you can watch iPlayer with them.0 -
anyone care to explain how Now TV works?0

Box plugs into your TV and connects to your internet. You pay them money and they allow your box to access their services. As simple as that.0
