    Thanks alot ladies :)

I've been all but buried under a pile of work to do. Just finished the largest female rat I've ever seen in my life which is a commission and got a tiny winged one to do for someone else as a commission too (this buyer also want another project added, yay).

Anyway, I've got tonnes to do this week and next so if I'm not around it's because I'm being productive and happy rather than sulking xxxx

    You lot are amazing <3

I'll put pictures under links *PLEASE, IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO TAXIDERMY, DON'T VIEW, I DONT WANT YOU UPSET PEEPS :(*

I'll probably have more auctions on monday or tuesday. My next plan is to do a large female with pups and a few other single ones too.
The unstuffed bits get put in seperate plastic bags, wrapped and put in their own tub in the freezer untill bin collection day. I wouldn't want innards in my outdoors (or even indoors) bin all week long, it'd honk. I am looking into a way of using the unstuffed bits, but I need to find a food dehydrator with DEEP trays instead of shallow ones, so I can make sculptures and not waste any of the critters at all. Er, I know that sounds a bit freaky but I do hate waste, I'd rather I use all instead of some of the little'ns.

Large rat commission, I took a silhouette picture because the buyer wants it to look as much as this pic below: *heres the one I did*

The little winged one. It's being heald up with pins untill it dries into shape. buyer asked that it be peeking through one of it's paws, hence the pose.

I'm knackered! I'm having a fruit tea with a sugar in to unwind a wee bit :) xxx

  • I must admit that whilst I am a little wierded out by the taxidermy idea, I think you certainly have a talent! I am sure your customers will be delighted!

  • Thanks Shiney :) I've emailed the buyer of the large one a picture and I'm just waiting to see what he says about it. I've just this minute emailed the buyer of the winged one and waiting for her feedback too. Hopefully if both parties are really happy then they'll tell friends with similar interests and point them my way *fingers crossed*

  • Usually it's just collectors of taxidermy who buy from me, or people who quite like bizarre and unusual things. I sometimes get quite abusive emails and comments from pet rat owners, but there's a rare few of thoose who can appreciate what I do and a couple have bought from me already. Thanks hon :)

Thanks alot Jo x I have to admit I'm guilty of not checking in on other peoples diaries lately, but for once I can put this down to being busy instead of lethargic :D

    Quick update.

I've found a way of using 90-100% of the critters I work on instead of sending 'waste' to landfill. I'll be encapsulating "unstuffed bits" (thanks pania :p) in clear resin and in places you wouldn't like to find such stuff. I don't want to say too much about it just now because althoug the plans work out in my head I've still to get my hands on the resin ect required.

Anyway, I need to hurry up and have a bath then head out to see the BF.
Catch y'all later, Keep on being awesome DFWs :T:T:T:T:T x
