How much do you spend on petrol/diesel just going to / from work?
How much does everyone spend on fuel just for travelling to and from work only ? I am curious , as keeping warm in winter is a need , and so is going out to work for the majority . Some do not have the option of using public transport for work travel .
I feel quite sure that a family's weekly work travel costs (petrol/diesel) will far exceed their heating costs. Cameron claims to be concerned about heating bills so are opposition , labour ? Threatening to cap energy bills? But , how come no one seems concerned about fuel cost for work travel ?

About £20 a month. I'd rather be without a car than heating in the winter.0

Are you serious? Every week people are moaning about the cost of fuel.
There is nothing that any of us can do about it though. They have us all over a barrel.
You must be one of our useless MPs if you honestly believe that we're not concerned.0 -

The whole point of my post was aimed at lack of politicians addressing this crisis . You obviously not understood or read it clearly that's your problem . Regarding the rest of your pointless post that's all it is .0 -

Lots of people care, Just not MP's that dont have to buy it from their own money.
Its on the expenses or the chauffeur fills it. Didnt one MP think a loaf of bread costs £27 some time back?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Approximately £45 per month on diesel for 9 mile each way daily work commute compared to £35 per month for combined gas and electricity bill.
Part of the concern over home energy prices is the impact on the elderly, for whom vehicle fuel costs aren't really a factor.
Edit: I should perhaps add that it strikes me as entirely to be expected that gas, electricity, petrol and diesel prices are all increasing as world reserves are used up. That price rises encourage people to make more efficient use of these resources is in many ways a good thing.0 -
Currently zero commuting costs as I am working from home :Dand hence why I can justify a car with a 5 litre engine

Approx £42 per week for my 88 mile return commute daily in my golf diesel.
Wife spends £35 a week in fuel in her petrol z4 to work and back.
Total commuting fuel per month £330.

My current car does 68mpg on diesel compared to what i was driving say 20 years ago when i started working of around 30mpg on petrol
Our house is heated by wood pellets made from a renewable source.
The problem for the government is that our overall fuel consumption as a country is down therefore their tax revenue is down.0 -
