I cover approx 9,000 miles a year in commuting alone so worked out that I spend approx £1400-£1500 a year on fuel alone. Add to that the wear and tear it puts on your car and the extra servicing it needs and I'd rather not start thinking too much about it or I'll be doing an exercise in bangernomics...0

£70/week for a 130 mile round trip, 4x/week.
Gas & elec is £105 a month.0 -
5 miles each way 5 times a week, 45mpg, 1.32 a litre.
I make that approx. £6.65.
FWIW that takes me 25 minutes to cover with my net pay.0 -
What does anyone expects our governments to do about world fuel prices, things are how they are, put up with it or find an alternative thats either cheaper or taxed less.

In this country, we pride ourselves in living within a caring society.
Yet, nothing could be further from the truth!
To have the view of 'it is what it is, put up or move' exemplifies the I'm alright Jack, up yours' attitude that has come to prevail in this land.
A fine attitude to have....as long as everything in our personal world is going to plan.
But plans, can, and will, go wrong.
And it is then that we all need a safety net.
We do not live in a 'third-world' country.
Every citizen in the UK should have a right to the basic needs for life.
Yet we have arrived at a point where every citizen in the UK is actually seen as a cash-cow by every multinational company going.
And out 'basic needs' are up for grabs to the highest bidder, who can then milk us for every penny we earn, or possess, without let or hindrance.
The politicians are supposed to represent our interests..yet all they do in reality is represent the interests of an Establishment, and whoever they have as their cronies in hte world of 'big business'....
They have achieved their objective..in a few short years, of turning the UK into another South Korea....ie, a source of cheap, compliant labour.
We are seriously in danger of losing the quality of life a UK citizen ought to be entitled.
And no-one seems to care! No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
My work fuel costs, assuming a daily commute to and from my usual workplace, are £60 per month (based on running average MPG and cost of fuel averaging out at 14p per mile).
My gas and electricity costs are £100 per month.0
