I didn't get a COA and paid £50. He works for a repair shop, I was offered a receipt. I will email him and ask him to sort it out.
Its working in poor comparison to my previous laptop which was almost 2 years old... and I had Avast on that.

I'd ditch the (probably) pirate version of Windows 7 and restore the laptop back to the Windows 8 factory settings.0

Taking it back to the same person doesn't seem like the best idea.
If he's mullered the Restore Partition and in addition didn't bother to create the Toshiba Recovery Discs, then he's just an idiot.0 -
