Let's hope that he hasn't mullered your Recovery partition in the process.

Did he or you create Recovery Discs before you embarked on this course of action?
  • I didn't get a COA and paid £50. He works for a repair shop, I was offered a receipt. I will email him and ask him to sort it out.

Its working in poor comparison to my previous laptop which was almost 2 years old... and I had Avast on that.

    p.s never p0rn, just LoLcats!

I'd ditch the (probably) pirate version of Windows 7 and restore the laptop back to the Windows 8 factory settings.

    It's not probably....

Will check it out with the OP via PM.

Taking it back to the same person doesn't seem like the best idea. :)

If he's mullered the Restore Partition and in addition didn't bother to create the Toshiba Recovery Discs, then he's just an idiot.

Will send you a PM in a minute to check on what he has done. No personal details involved. Just a licence and Motherboard check.
At least when you speak to him, you'll know for what to ask.
  • Thanks Nifty, I cant reply PM as I have to wait 60 mins it says. I will reply in the morning as I am shattered. Thanks again
