advice needed re cap1 and cougar

Hi there,
Hope you lovely people can give me some advice. We had credit card with cap1, got behind on payments although was still making odd payments but not always the minimum due to hubby being self employed and not always receiving payment. Received letter that said was going to default if I did not pay £252 by a certain date. I therefore called them, had the usual really hard conversation with neither of us really understanding the other, I told them I could pay ten pounds a week for three weeks and would then be able to pay six hundred pound from the account on the twenty eighth Oct (I have recently been made redundant and this would be when I would be receiving payment).
The lady went away said nothing they could do to stop default and then other things which despite repeated requests I could not understand her accent. I therefore said I m really sorry, I can't understand you, I will pay ten pounds etc and then 600 etc.
The phone calls stopped and I have done what I said I would.
Received default letter and then another letter from them saying now passed to cougar, not had any correspondence from them yet but no doubt will start shortly.
The letter from cap1 says to go through cougar for everything now. My questions are, who should I pay the ten pounds to today and my payment on Monday. Should I wait to hear from cougar. Should I pay the six hundred straight away. I presume they will be trying to get all of cap 1 outstanding balance and not just the arrears so how likely will they accept 100 pound per month.......should I say I have been made redundant.
Really worried that they will call round to the house, take us to court. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

You need to pay off (or start to pay off) this debt as soon as possible. Tell Cougar immediately of your intention to pay more on Monday and set up some kind of payment channel to do so.herestothefuture wrote: »The letter from cap1 says to go through cougar for everything now. Now you have defaulted, you will find it very difficult to get credit elsewhere.
You would be better posting this on the "Debt Free wannabe" forum of this board where you'll hear from others in the same position as yourself;

Thank you, I realised once posted that on wrong board so asked for it to be moved.
