I am lucky that my bf quite likes me lavishing attention on him but the point I was making is that he isn't as forthcoming giving it back, but I know he loves me to bits which should be all that matters. He is also a swine for jokingly winding me up and I bite every time! I should know better by now lol.
What Richard 53 is saying is so true especially the bit about enjoying his company and letting it be. But you sound a bit insecure like me which makes it so much harder. I don't live with my bf and I find this makes it worse lol!!
We do! Yep mine likes attention but he likes to give it and will make snide remarks if I don't reciprocate his affection.
Yep mine jokes, like I'll say something like 'you treat me like all the other girls' to wind him up and then he'l say something like 'yeh because I have the time for that' but then that hes said that sits in my head. Its stupid and I know hes joking so I'm now making a conscious effort to take those sorts of things with a pinch of salt, and even not pay attention lol. I do know he loves me to bits, and he does send me random cute lovey dovey texts while I'm work now and then, but yeh I do just need to let it be and not bug him over it.
I just need to toughen up if anything lol.
I know I'm a very sensitive person and I think that contributes to it as I do take everything personally and can't really shrug things off.0 -

I can also be quite demanding and I do like to get my own way;) he also likes to get his own way and can be a tad arrogant but I actually find this an attraction for some stupid reason lol.
No relationship is 100% perfect and there are things in ours which p!ss me off sometimes but I'm sure he finds that with me. If you have that core love and spark for one another then that's good as it's very hard to find especially at my age lol :A0 -
I used to work with someone whose girlfriend probably thought he was very romantic. He would often take home a bug bunch of flowers for her or a box of chocolates. What she didn't know was that he had sex with one of the girls we worked with on the floor of the office after a night out.Dovah_diva wrote: »Definitely not romantic!
Did she ever find out?
Reminds me of a colleague's husband: my friend was in Tesco one Friday lunchtime and saw him buying a bottle of vodka and a bunch of flowers. Knowing he was meant to be away with work she thought how lovely, he's back early and going to surprise xxx. Fortunately she kept it to herself. Found out later that he arrived home at expected time on Friday night, no flowers, no vodka.;)0 -

Oh dear I would not be a happy bunny if my bf did that to me! I can imagine she had a few choice words for him lol!0 -

Surely they could have been for anyone. And personally if I did see someone with something like that and thought they were for me and then later found out they werent, Id challenge it.0 -
Been with my OH for 25 years and married for 22
He isn't terribly romantic, but I don't think I could stand it anyway - when I see men or women constantly hugging or kissing their partners or grabbing them, it gets on my wick. Flowers would be nice, but I tend to buy them myself.
But he does bring me a cuppa every morning before I get up; he will go out on a night like tonight to pick up our daughter from her swimming teacher lessons cos he knows I hate going out on cold dark nights; he will encourage me to take any opportunity to further my career or just have a nice weekend or evening out even though it highly inconveniences him. He is a thoroughly decent bloke who I love to bits and I can't imagine being married to anyone else.
My sister's OH was constantly hugging and kissing her, saying stuff like "look at my beautiful wife". Turns out he's a control freak and they are getting divorced.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I didn't explain it well. My friend saw someone else's husband buying the flowers etc. and assumed it was for his wife (who we both worked with). She told me but not her as we didn't want to spoil what we thought was going to be a lovely surprise (home early, romantic gesture). Even when we found out that he didn't go home early and she had no flowers we said nothing. Subsequently she found out he was a serial philanderer and he's now her ex.0 -

Thats pretty much how it generally is though. Last night me and OH went out with his friend and new girlfriend.
Now, me and OH hold hands in public and he might put his hand on my leg under the table but we're not openly tactile with each other in front of people, but we are very much so when we're alone at home.
OHs friend has always been very overly affectionate with past girlfriends and was with the new girlfriend. As we were walking back to the car park, he had his arm around her but you could see she wasn't comfortable with this as she looked very rigid and had her arms folded. When we were out for a meal, he had his arm around her basically the entire time and was stroking her back and her hair, and you could see she was embarrassed by it. All his exs have complained about it, and said hes such a control freak. His relationships never last long at all.0
