    I think you have done the exact right thing, a dog that has been loyal and faithful for 5 years does not suddenley turn like that for no reason and there is no way I would have made her suffer any longer by having tests done and then having to have her pts, which delays the heartbeak for longer.
    You would have been on edge all the time waiting for it to happen again and as you say the trust would have gone, she would never have been your faithful friend again and could not under stand why you distanced your self from her, no way could she have been rehomed, so I think you made the right decision for all of you, Daisy included.
    Unless anyone else on here was with your daughter at the time they cannot see the bites and bruises, so I don't see how anyone can criticize your decision.

    UPDATE,
    As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted
