Roadkill Rebels - November 2013

  • 3p yesterday, even after about 2 miles of walking in around town and past shops. I specifically looked by a park bench to find it, knew there would be something there and there were 3 pennies waiting to be found!
  • 2p for me yesterday outside tesco exit, and 2p this morning from dh's trouser pocket as I was putting a wash load in. (does that count?!)
takes my practice total to 20p! Not bad to say 5 days ago I had never even heard/thought of re-homing all these lonely pennies!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • HOK3Y on a side note, I love your savings goal target! Think I should up mine too! How do you plan to get there if you don't mind me asking? (Not with roadkill alone I'm guessing ;) )
  • Afternoon everyone! count me in. My DD is always finding pennies, she's 4 so if I spot one too I usually get her to pick it up so she gets the luck! ;) or maybe so I don't look mad for picking up discarded pennies, but more fool the people who throw them down!. We're off to the doctors soon and it's a 30 minute walk so I shall be keeping my eyes peeled ;) x

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

Wow I'm stunned by your savings goal as well HOK3Y - I hadn't noticed it until gettingthehangofthis pointed it out!!

I haven't even GOT a savings goal so I need to get one.

I love the final 1p - that will definitely be roadkill!:rotfl:

My practice week sucks!! Admittedly I've been housebound all poorly for most of it, but not one penny found!! Finger crossed my luck changes in November.

    Hi HOK3Y!

    Can I join in too?
I love finding money and so far found £1 + 5p + 1p in the last 5 days.

My hunting ground is usually around the convinience store / garage accross from my work- plenty of people drop a 1p or 5p and can't be bothered to pick it up! I have embarassed my OH many times by picking up abandonded money and being really cheery about it.

I usually just put it into the bottom of my handbag for emergencies but since I saw this challenge I put it all into a little money box and will count it up at the end of November.

    Good luck everybody!!!

Can I join too please? I haven't found very much in the past - but it'll be something to start my signature off with :-)
Unfortunately I've been diagnosed as having brain cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. More details as I get them...

Welcome hollie! Your Roadkill Rebel number is in post 8! Very best of luck and great to have your DD on board to help - their eyes are so much better than ours!

The only rule is that is has to be found outside of your home or vehicle - so it can't be money that was already yours or your family's. So by all means take the pennies from DH's pockets (I sure would!) but don't count it here.

Well, there is a bit of a story behind that and it was to do with telling myself that in ten years I would have more money in my bank account (or, rather, my net worth if I own a house by then) than my work had in their main account on the particular day I got this wild notion.......and work had £538k.......so I need £538,001. And I will. Mark my words. I have the next year mapped out and I reckon with a little luck and a lot of determination I can have £50k in the bank by December 2014. The remaining 9 years? I don't know - I am going to allow the universe to guide me but one thing is for sure, you do not get anywhere unless you aim for it, so I am aiming high and am darn sure going to hit it or get seriously bloomin' close - watch this space!! :D
