HOK3Y,you can be sure I will let you know when I am passing through.
(And I sooooo wished I was closer to you last week when your OH lost his wedding ring.I would have been out searching, for sure ).
Was soo looking forward to going to Tesco today to do coin hunting.
Found 1p under THAT shelf in Boots.Didn't have to lie down quite as flat as I had the other week to retrieve it.
Then I wandered around IKEA,Halfords, and Next, with the express intention of hunting coins.I did see 3 x 5p,but couldn't have retrieved them without jumping over the side of the escalator I was on,and crawling on hands and knees about 5m along a metal electrical plant casing thingy (it's a technical term,don't-cha-know :rotfl:)
Then I went to ASDA Living, and in the trolley bay outside shop, found another £1,jammed in a trolley .Even had to ask the staff to help me retrieve it!!
    So £1.01 today.
Soooo want to drive to local mall just to go hunting, but then:
    - my housework won't get done,
-when OH and kids get home,I would have to find an answer for "What did you do today,Mummy?",and
    - unless it was an absolutely fantastic find, probably wouldn't cover the cost of petrol to get there, and the Miss Millies cookies I would buy while I was there :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • 2p (2 x 1p) found today - one liberated from outside the gym, the other in sainsbobs.

Also found another double points receipt - pushing £100 in nectar points for Christmas this year :)

Oh my SU! You rock! I have a feeling that you and I could be truly dangerous together! :D The town wouldn't know what had hit it! Well done on the £1 and roping in the staff to help you - love that! I went into the town centre today but didn't set foot in too many shops because I was pretty fed up of the crowds within a few minutes - couldn't face fighting through them to look around.

We did go out for a walk tonight. Receipts were very thin on the ground and hard fought for. We came home with quite a few in the end but the total for the day so far is £1.16 and 53p in roadkill - some days are tougher than others!

Splodge that is great news on your nectar points! That's your Christmas grocery shopping paid for surely!

Nothing during my walk to the shops yesterday and nothing today :(

I'm starting to agree with the theory that there is less roadkill to be found in "posh" areas. People don't walk anywhere around here they drive, which is why I get some strange looks when I am out walking without a dog. The theory is that people don't carry cash and they use debit/credit cards to pay for their shopping.

My two local supermarkets are Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Both are kept really, really clean and are so well lit that any roadkill/litter is cleaned away in an instant. There are usually as a minimum two members of staff supervising the self-service tills so I suspect any dropped coins are quickly tidied away.

In Waitrose you can just take a trolley without needing a pound coin. In Sainsbury's carpark a group of men are nearly always loitering around the main trolley park, waiting to see if anyone wants their car washing while they do their shopping. Now I have a theory why they wait by the trolley park!

Still, I won't give up :rotfl:

Well, I have to say that I have come home today with just 1p of roadkill, but I was so darn happy to see that penny and know that my record for consecutive days of roadkill remains unbroken! I soooooo want to get to the end of this month having found something every day.

On the flip side, just checked the first receipt and I'm up £3.96 which slams me over the £50 mark.......waaaaaaay cool!
