create the recovery disc using acer erecovery

have you tried using erecovery from windows to initiate factory restore (after backing up your data)

    what exactly happens

have you tried F8, system restore

how did they decide it was a hardware problem

you can fix these things yourself without paying them £55

I would say go for a Lenovo, they are generally well made - mostly based on old IBM designs and are usually quite easy to repair as they have sensible access hatches for say replacing the fan. They may not be the smallest or lightest, but the ultrabook (very thin) type machines can have heat and reliability issues. Avoid Compaq / HP low end models and stick to Acer, Asus, Lenovo or Dell they are normally quite reliable.

Have a look on Ebay at the department store clearance shops, Argos have deals on Ebay that can be good value.

I'm unable to get into normal mode, click on my name get to desktop and blue circle just goes around and around never ending have to pull plug, or it gets to welcome screen and does the same, have done system restore but no good.

this all started back in aug with windows download, one download caused lots of problems when computer fired up, so removed that one KB download, then Sept downloads froze and had problems again, then Oct download just froze in the middle and had to pull plug, now the "Windows Installer not working says not Installed correctly, so now unable to uninstall or install anything.

I did make disk when 1st got laptop, was going to try to put these in to see what happens, but wanted to do this as a last resort incase I cannot even get into safe mode again

Probably seems like a minor point, but I bought a Samsung laptop with same spec/price range as you're looking at, and one of the main gripes I have with it is that there is no CAPS/LOCK indicator.

This has proved to be a total pain, not knowing whether it's in upper or lower case until AFTER I've typed something, particularly when typing in a password where you can't see what the characters are until after you've entered the password.

I don't know if all Samsungs are the same but it's definitely proved to be a pain.

The video simply demonstrates how to factory restore, no sound needed.

There are written instruction on the acer website, and hints above. If you go into erecovery it should be self explanatory.

If you want help here, you need to answer questions fully.

I'm trying my best to answer the questions that are being asked.

I have been on to Acer site and chat to them over internet and they agree with me no matter what I do I cannot get in the recovery programe either by F8 or by Alt F10 it just will not bring up what I need.
Thats why Acer said it was a hardware problem and would have to send it back to them to see if they can repair. (not worth paying anything)

Laptop does nothing if I put in the factory disk I made when 1st got it.

I have 3 a/cs in normal mode and all 3 are corrupt, just freeze up at Welcome or desktop.

Only abe to get into start in safe mode with Internet.
most of this I have already said above.

Unable to watch the video as it just closes and says it has encountered a problem, but guess it only tells me what I already know.

So unless you or someone can tell me of trying another way other than F8 or Alt F10 I will throw this laptop as far as I can He! He!
    Many thanks for reading this
