Don't know? Was working late so did not get to find out. But 20 5-8 year olds screaming to play games!!! It could of been a blood bath! ha ha

Just frustrating I have never had any problems like this. Still nothing last night so at the moment I am paying for a very expensive alarm clock! lol

As Tesco network is O2 and your OH has no problems it's probably not going to be coverage.
You say the sim was swapped by Tesco so would rule that out too.
The S4 has a reputation for dropping calls on some phones and some people report software updates being able to cure it, so perhaps try that first.

Have tried that, it just decides when it wants to connect to the network. Cuts me off and then just shows a lovely little message saying no network. It can last for a few hours but it can last for days no matter what I do.

Our dear Friends at Tesco now simply say tough! Very nice!

IMO The phone needs to be sent back for repair as I say it is a known problem with early 4's, probably talk to Samsung themselves if you are having no joy with Tesco.

You could meanwhile download an app such as Opensignal which will determine if there is a signal in the area when you experiance the no network message .....although I wouldn't be certain if the fault on the phone would overide the signal search but woth a try out of interest ???

We had 4 separate contracts with Tesco mobile for 4 family members and about 8 months ago started to get real issues with dropped calls and no signal. We could not even get a signal when others standing a yard away from us and using O2 had a signal.

I phoned continually and complained and kept being told it was a sim issue and that a new sim would be issued, yet despite that promise on 3 different occasions no new sims ever arrived. I have now bought out the remainder of 2 of the contracts , paid just to get the PAC number as neither phone could get a signal (one iPhone one HTC) as both phones were essential.

The final 2 phones are not being used by people likely to be inconvenienced too much by no signal on occasions, but I am buying out the third contract next week (another iPhone) and waiting for the 4th contract to end in 6 weeks to port that number out as well.

I have literally phoned tesco more than 10 times and keep being told that I am the only person reporting issues so I must be doing 'something' to the phones .

I won't be recommending Tesco mobile to anyone in a hurry that's for certain.

Well I got my dead lock letter today.

They have some how now forgotten that I called a so many times, went into store and have called technical help more times than I can remember.

If fact according to their letter I only let them know that there was a problem on the 19th of October!!!

Oh think it is par for the course.

So sorry you where having problems and think that it is so wrong that you have had to pay yourself out of the contract. Just seems wrong that you have to end up paying for a service that you are not getting.

    Just a quick update.

OK new phone arrived and even though I had checked that I would be able to take my number and that Tesco would issue a new number they now said they can not.

Spoke to my company solicitor who has told me to pay the cancelation fee and go down the off-com legal routes etc.

New phone is with 02 works perfectly and has no problems. So guess the moral is go any where just not Tesco for your new phone.

    This makes no sense.

Is the new phone in exchange for the one you were sending back for repair or have you taken out a new contract with O2 ?

If the latter then in order to take your number with you to O2 then you should have asked for a pac code from Tesco

That is exactly what I thought.

No this new phone is a new contract. I could not wait any longer ( 6months is enough ) for them to sort it out. So I have taken a new contract direct with o2.

The old Samsung is neatly boxed, waiting to be well what ever! no point keeping it charged it does not work.

Tesco had said that I could take my number over via Pac code however when I called to do it surprise surprise they said the only way was if I cancelled my contract which means paying off the cxl charges.

Have since spoken to out legal guys who said it will not make a difference with Offcom so guess I just have to think of it as a savings account until they give me it back.

Shame really all I ever wanted was a phone that worked.
