Still on the Nov thread but can I set a normal budget of £250.00 please for Dec. I have tried to work on £220 for a 4 week month and £250 for a 5 week one most of the year and should be able to do as normal.
This should be enough as already have the prawns for starters, the turkey, sausage meat, mincemeat, Christmas pudding and the obligatory sweets in. I think most of us are guilty of buying more than we need for Christmas although I did make a conscious effort to improve last year.
Good luck everyone on the last month of 2013 lets see how well we all do.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Can you put me down for £120 again? Plus I will use up my nectarpoints for Christmas and I'm going to use this amount to start stocking up my cupboard again.

Today I went to Morrisons and spent £59.36, although I used my £54 of Savers Stamps so only paid £5.36
I got lots of things which will help us to be well-stocked over winter such as pasta, rice and stock cubes, but it was also nice to be able to treat myself to some chocolate things tooI also bought myself some new pillows which I was badly in need of, but as I only spent £5 I don't mind.

In a further attempt to get my spending under check and myself organised I was looking at diaries for 2014. I found a lovely one in Smiths that gave a week's view on one page, space for a meal plan and a tear-off shopping list. It was lovely - then I looked at the price - £13.49!
B*gger that! It may not be pretty but I've sorted out a note book and done the same thing. Divided the page into three columns (day, meal and shopping) and into seven rows (days of the week). Planned the meals - wrote a corresponding list of ingredients not in my cupboard/freezer - and tore off the third column as a shopping list.
£13.49 saved and some organisation injected into my chaos.
Fae xx
PS: Ding! is something from the freezer that will be microwaved
And the dates are a day out - I've not quite escaped chaos!“Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination." Oscar Wilde
