First shop done at £53.10. A bit stressed by that but we do have stuff in the freezer, and experience tells me that more often than not we spend more at the beginning of the month and less towards the end. I recon it's because we are restocking at the beginning of the month and batch cooking, and then we're using up the previously cooked and frozen batch cooked meals towards the end of the month?

£6.75 spent in Aldi last night, leaving £241.30 in my budget with four weeks till payday. It's scary that I've spent nearly £30 this week and still haven't done a "proper" shop

I'm going to count my loose coin jars and use my nectar points on top of my normal £280 budget. I have £24 in points and around £70 in the jars at an estimated guess

I'll also add whatever I have saved from this months, I'm trying desperately not to spend it all :o
I have counted my jars this morning. £86.04 in total :j More than I thought I had :)

My budget for December will now be £366 + My nectar points= £388.50 as you can only spend them in £2.50s.

Can I be put down for that please? £388.50 :j I'm so pleased that I have that much :D

  • Hello! Haven't done this challenge for a while and lost track of how much I was spending. Currently doing NSK's NOvember challenge and not doing particularly well! Realised that I spend quite a lot on food and I'd like to get this down a little. I was doing some monthly cooking (from once a month meals website) and i'd like to get back into doing this.

Last months food budget was £400, and I think I have about £12 left for this week!!!! I need to put it up this month as it is Christmas and then start reducing it from January.

So it is £500 - this is for 2 adults, 2 DS (11 and 7), plus a lot of childminded children! Hopefully I'll be well under this, but also have some for Christmas food and alcohol!
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600
  • Although my month's not officially started I want to get into recording again so last night I spent £10.79 in Aldi for mid week top up.
2 bags lettuce, salad cream, 2 packs crumpets, pack yogs, malt loaf, milk * 2 4 pints, grapes, bread, bananas and tomatoes. This will see us over until Sunday.
I will shop for next week on Sunday and that will be my start of the month. I'm busy menu planning again - quite enjoy it actually.
    Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

    Loan 1 £1787
    Loan 2 £1683
    Total £8601 Was £39302

Great price for your potatoes, cant understand why they are so expensive in the supermarkets, I know last year was a bad harvest but think this year has been quite good. Think its just profiteering by the supermarkets, i.e.what goes up stays up.
I am old enough to remember when the supermarket was a novelty not the norm, we had butchers, bakers ,greengrocers and markets and if there was a glut of something you got the benefit.
