Does anyone shop via my supermarket? I have been recently and from my last purchase, I'm due £9 cashback. They have requested the receipt which I've e-mailed but I've not had any acknowledgment its been received so just wonder if I could send again or wait for the minute? Apparently it takes up to 30 days to process..... :undecided

I have a couple of things on my list to buy tonight including fruit, potatoes and split peas. The last two are to stretch out the enormous gammon joint we had for dinner last night. I'm making a fritatta with gammon, potato and peppers tonight and will soak the split peas overnight to make pea and ham soup.

This is probably a daft question, but normally I make pea and ham soup with a gammon shank which I boil up for a while to cook it/make the stock. If I already have cooked gammon, do I just add it in with the peas and just boil/bubble till they're cooked? I have both veg and ham stock cubes - which would be best to use? I really wish I was a more instinctive cook sometimes :o

Hmmm, not sure why we are being spendy this week but we spebt another £8.03 in Mr T yesterday. We went in there on a whim to speak to someone about a new laptop as mine kicked the bucket a week ago. Mr Shortie went to look at YS bits. All bar bananas for us and 4pt milk for my folks, it was YS stuff.

Mr Shortie picked up even more reduced 'Christmas' cheese, and I picked up some ham to chop and freeze for pizza topping, some chicken with dip lunch things and some pumpkin and goats cheese tartlets. Mmmmm. Oh! And Mr Shortie also picked up some reduced cooked chicken which we've shredded ready to make a huge batch of curry, plus some reduced mini donuts (munched at my folks' as we were there for dinner) and some YS cookies

When I have lefy over gammon to use for soup, i.e. no stock, then use a ham stock cube.

  • Thanks Meg, he was breathing alot better this morning but since Croup tends to get worse at night will see how he gets on today. Kids are so resillient though cause even though he was in pain and struggling to breath last night, the doctors were going to admit him, he was still smiling at them.

£1 spent on milk today (technically yesterday). Have already added to sig but catching up o n the thread whilst trying to wind down from work. So tired and achy but can't seem to shut off.

Mr T shop tomorrow, expecting it to be about £43 ish.

Slightly more than anticipated at £48.80, but i am well stocked up. I also spent £13.55 in Mr M, whilst waiting for the library to open, £6 of this was Fox's biscuit offer ( two tins for £6, which worked out cheaper than the Cadbury's Occasions when they were £2, as one box is miles bigger for £1 extra .... anyway you get the gist ;)). What else did i buy in there? OH yes, teabags, washing up liquid, Christmas TV mag, tissues and dream topping (offer). Have updated sig.

It's been that manic the past few weeks at work, that i have lost the will to live on days off as far as getting organised is concerned; but today i have repacked the freezer, along with the few bits and bobs from Mr T and inventoried it. I find this much easier when trying to sit down to sort out meal plans for the week, as i can just glance at it. Off to do exactly that now ..... cheerio.
