A couple of spends to report from yesterday:
£16.61 in Aldi.
This got me 3 bags of cat litter, milk, veg for soup and for meals this week, bread, ham and a chocolate reindeer :rudolf: I've got a pot of minestrone on the hob at the moment and have frozen the celery and leeks I didn't use for use in another soup.
£9.50 in Sainsbury's on sausages, pasta/sauce (for a quick meal this week) and a rather pretty jumper in the sale - full price £14 but I paid £5.25If it fits, I'll put £5.25 to my groceries account from my main account so I don't cheat by taking it out of the budget.
I have around £140 left of my budget with ten days till payday. I'm aiming to spend less than £40. Wish me luck!!0 -

Spends of £33.62 to report this weekend - this was spent in Lidl and M&S - Lidl for basics, lunch foods and fruit for the week (and some beer for DH) and M&S was a treat meal for tonight of a pie and some of their side dishes. Bit of a splurge but we were due to go to cinema and out for dinner but decided against it, so I figure we saved money in the end!!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0

I am:(:( to report that I can be wasteful with my food purchases sometimes and often wonder how much I would save if I shopped properly and didn't bin food. I don't dwell on this yet get really irate when I get overcharged like above !
Oh Ericmaybe you should try the idea I saw a couple of weeks ago and keep a tally of food wasted. Might shock you into action. Can you not freeze some of it for soups etc ?
I've got a pot of minestrone on the hob at the moment and have frozen the celery and leeks I didn't use for use in another soup.

GOOD LUCK mooomin - sure you'll manage it.
Bye the Bye talking about freezing for soup etc. I have started cooking the whole darned lot, using what I need and freezing in batches what's left. Seems to save a bit of time and prob fuel doing all that 'softening' in a oner
Had an NSD today. Seems to be the weekend for shepherd's pie :rotfl: We had one made from LO lamb joint and there's enough left to freeze for another one :T Had it with b. beans and really GOOD.
Hope you all have a Marvellous Monday

We also seem to be spending money on food from our own personal spends iyswim? Eg Oh couldn't be bothered to cook the other night so bought a takeaway from 'his' money not sure whether to include this in the total spends.
I think i'll add my menu for the week to keep me on track
mon-left over ham and veg
tues-curry
weds-stuffed msuhrooms
thurs-carbonara
fri-sausages and lentils0
