  • Oops, not been around for a while... partially because I am over this month. I'm at £178.13/£150 but that does include an anticipated £16 veg box spend for next Thursday, so it's a five week month for me. As well as various other non-grocery spends for two work parties. And lots of gluten free food which is stupidly expensive. I'm estimating my spend on day-to-day food is at about £130.

Declaring at £50 for November but this has included loads of ys meat and veg. More than enough to see me through December so only have to buy fresh fruit and salad.

Decided against buying asda gift cards to get the bonus as thinking about it don't want to commit to spending £300 in there, I do better buying reduced from local shop usually. and with the bad weather coming it will be easier for me to get too, 2min walk rather than 30 mins.

    picked up some bargains.
books 3 for £1, a pair of big red velvet curtains to make stockings and gift bags for Christmas fair £2 3 really nice old glass bead necklace, to break up and make bracelets, 50p each and a bag of keyring findings for 50p. very pleased with my £5 spend.
She said they had boxes of 6 free range eggs for 20p so thought it worth a look. They did too bought 5 boxes to make jars of pickled eggs. I spent £14.49 all up got loads, fish pie pieces £1.18 instead
£3, £2 pizzas for 40p, yogurts 50p instead of £1,95, bags of carrots and parsnips 20p , bags of stirfry 20p. at a quick count up everything would have come to over £40.

What a fantastic bargain-grabbing day. Congratulations

Im going to declare £30.06 over budget this month. We dont get paid until Monday but I dont (and wont) need anything over the weekend.

Have spent most of the day looking at ways to cut back so we can clear our debt off sooner (4 years until 1 large one paid off and 13 years left until the massive debt is all paid off and its currently £80k all together ). We made a lot of silly mistakes when we were both younger apply for this card and that card and over spending constantly and (OH) getting cars that were not needed (before we were together) so we are most definitely paying for it all now. We are going to make sure our children learn before they make the mistakes! sorry going OT there.

Sorry you have the debts but to look on the bright side you are now trying to sort and as you say, you will make sure your children don't go there. No need to apologise - I just hope it helps being on here. (Hugs)
found this blog today contains loads of cheap recipes, thought I would share it. http://thriftylesley.com/the-recipes/

Will have to reassess budget as I know we have gone way over the £80 that I originally set. Oh well. Must make sure that only I go to the shops from now on as hubby cannot be trusted with the budget.

Thanks for the link ! I had the same problem with DH until I said that unless he justified the 'extras' he had to pay for them out of his own budget. Haha it seems to have worked so far

A little shopping today for DS mainly so Mr A £16.25 and Mar*s for £3.58. Added to total. WHY are the smilies not working?

Hope you all have a good weekend

    Hi all,

Up and awake a stupid o'clock..... So thought i,d come and catch up.

Spent £52 at Ald,s today, this did include a stupid mistake by me - grabbed what I thought was a rolled lamb breast - looked a big one £7 something - brill slow roast it then LO,s for stew - u guessed it was rolled shoulder at £7 something a kilo!!!! Was nearly £15....

I know I could take it back, but have decided to keep it as within buget and OH and I have both been having a hard time at our respective jobs and need comfort food. Will make it stretch though, roast, stew and broth....

Also spent £15 at Mr S on household bits and pieces
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130

ouch feel you pain, I love breast of lamb but never buy it as so expensive, years ago this was one of these was a cheap budget meal for families I used to buy 2 a week one to bone and stuff and the other chopped up for stew.

  • Hi everyone.

wide awake too. thinking too much on my part. anyways I have been overspending galore. went out to shops to get baby things on to find the shop didn't have the milk so ended up at another shop. Then realised I had forgot something so about 4 trips to shops and £80 later I still need sugar. about right!!

since its my first month I am going to take my full figure as my target to reduce, think I have said this already. but I have noticed I go shopping as a comfort when I am bored or feeling a bit down.
anyways have a good weekend all. think of me working away. :(
