  • Hi everyone. I've not been on for a while but crept back on yesterday & signed up for the Sealed Pot Challenge and I've become a Roadkill Rebel too!!

Now I need to sort out my grocery shopping. I'll keep an eye on what I'm spending for the rest of November but I already know that my budget for December is £200 for the whole month (that's for 2 adults, 3 kids aged 10, 10 & 12), a cat & a dog. (Please let me know when to add that to my sig!). I know it's not a lot but that's the cold hard truth!! I usually shop at A!d! & !ce!and and I squirreled away £50 over the year on my Bonus Card at !ce!and, which they've added £2 to so grand total £52!

I love looking through the recipes and do a lot of home-baking which OH & the 3 kids seem to appreciate as everything disappears so quickly :undecided I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing :o I'll be making another batch of Twinks hobnobs before school run. The kids always come home famished and home-baking hits the spot and keeps them going till teatime. They always take something from the tin in their packed lunches too.

There's so much support on here, it really is so lovely to be back :T

    :TTrully brilliant shopping trip! :T

I'm looking forward next week's shopping from Tescimos- I have a helping hand coupon of £5off £40 and a £6 off £40 coupon from a tescimos mail (usally sent around Easter/ Christmas)- that's a whooping £11 off £40 before I use any other coupons. I have used these two coupons together before and it works - now just have make a list to maximise the savings and stock up on 'value' products.

I can vouch for that. I've used the 2 coupons before and they worked for me too! I haven't had one this year, but i do have the £5 off £40 for next week.

    CP - that is amazing.

To be honest, I don't really know anything about coupons. Do you look for these? Or are they the ones that come with your shop?

I use the ones that come with my shop, but only as long as its something i would have bought in the first place. I also get them from magazines, newspapers, printable coupon thread ect. I'm also a Buzz Campaigner so often get MOC from them too.

I always get lots of money off / extra points coupons from tescimos for my 2 clubcards - and most of the time it's for something I use anyway- and then I just wait until an offer is on the item and use the coupon too.... In my last shop 2 weeks ago I managed to get approx £6 off and got an extra 240 points just with the coupons they mailed to me.

  • Thinking of ordering a turkey from the butcher this year for Christmas. As it's just me and the DH I usually only get a medium chicken, but this year I am aiming to use LO for meals for 6 days after, need a big bird for that. I think a 10-12lbs bird should do it? But it still needs to be able to fit in the oven.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • £5.63 in Mr T on way home from work. Starting to think about big Christmas shop. Have bought some treats already when they've been on offer. Debating doing an online shop for delivery Christmas week to avoid the bedlam. Have got £50 of savings stamps but could use these week before. This forum has really got me thinking and planning more. Thanks!! :)
  • Got an exciting bit of news I needed to share - I went to wrap a Christmas present with Aldi wrapping paper (£1 for 8m) and I've found it has gridlines printed on the back!!!! No more wonky lines, or finding the paper fits the present at one end but not the other. I know I'm getting ridiculously overexcited about this, but it's amazing!

Spent £15 today, £10 of that was on nappies. My hubby is on a special diet today as he's having 2 endoscopies tomorrow so I've only cooked for me and my son. We had an easy dinner of chips and cauliflower cheese grills as my son had an important 2 hour appointment with his paediatrician so we're both exhausted. More testing is needed including genetic testing so we're no closer to answers :(

Still need dog and cat food tomorrow.
